Merchants House Hotel, Tallinn – convenient location, but with reservations
Positive:
✔ Ideal location – the hotel is located in the heart of the Old Town, within walking distance of the Town Hall Square, restaurants and main attractions. Walking along the atmospheric streets starts right from the hotel's door.
✔ Clean rooms – there is everything you need for a comfortable stay
✔ Friendly staff – quick check-in, willingness to help with questions.
✔ Fast Wi-Fi – stable connection without interruptions.
Cons:
Renovation is required – scuffs are noticeable in some places, furniture and plumbing look outdated.
Inconvenient and uncomfortable shower room – since there are no doors in the shower, but only a curtain, water always flows out onto the floor, forming puddles on the floor and creating inconvenience + the shower has only an overhead watering can and no shower hose!
✖ Bottled water is paid – there is no free drinking water in the room, which is inconvenient after a long day of walking.
Difficulties with access – due to the location in the pedestrian zone of the old town, a taxi cannot drive directly to the hotel, you have to carry your suitcases on foot.
Merchants House Hotel is a good option for a short stay if you appreciate the location and are willing to put up with minor inconveniences. The price-quality ratio is acceptable, but if modern renovation and comfort in detail are important to you, it is worth considering other options.
