Super hotel, huge green area, large swimming pool.The room stock is fresh-everything is clean, without mold, all the furniture is in working order and not tired.. Amazing entertainment evening and daytime programs. The cuisine is varied and of high quality, the staff is friendly and helpful. A few working ones ! bars, cocktails and drinks are all of high quality. The beach is clean, there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas.

There is live music from different directions in different locations. It is suitable for both family and party people. A very good hotel by Cuban standards: the food is delicious and plentiful (seafood, meat, jamon, various cheeses - gorgonzola, Gouda, etc.), rooms should be rented for an additional fee on the 4th floor, where renovation has just taken place.
The beach is nice, clean, sometimes it washes away the rocks, but it is tolerable, you can swim.

The best hotel in Varadero.
Someone doesn't talk much about food. But I think there's more than a lot of food to choose from. I listened to the tourists who were on the tour and on the plane back (some had no sweets at all, and even bread, some had no meat) And that was it!
Unlimited alcohol.
A calm beach, the largest, cleanest and most comfortable
3 swimming pools. Sports hall. Restaurants on site. The shops. Discos. Spa
In general, I had a great rest. Although I don't like to hang out, and I didn't go to discos and didn't drink much alcohol. I am happy with my measured and peaceful rest.

Given the fact that the entire tourism business is shared by the state with private companies, there is no management here from the word "at all". With a proper approach, it would be possible to make a top hotel, but "independence" is in the first place here, and as a result, the lack of all benefits for tourists.

Forget that it's five stars! It doesn't even smell.
If you want to lose weight, then you should go to Melia. There 's nothing to eat .
And if you don't have any luck with the weather, then it's really sad. And if there is a Portuguese boat in the sea of jellyfish, then you can't swim either.

The only thing I was pleased with was the room cleaning.
If you have a Level level, you can save yourself with Kava for breakfast and eat egg dishes.
There's some kind of egg mass on the general buffet.
There is no service. English sucks.
The fitness equipment is broken.
If you want to try lobsters, take a car and drive to the port!

The coolest hotel, where there is literally everything, I really liked the kitchen, although we expected horror, based on the reviews. The food is mostly vegetables and many types of meat, there are fresh fruits, some national cuisine, but mostly European. Cool beach and the whole hotel area. Of course, you can find fault with the cleanliness of the room, but still, this is Cuba, so you should soften up and initially not set a high bar) the events at the hotel are not bad, there are musical evenings with live music every day, dance concerts. There is a fitness center, for an additional fee you can play tennis with a coach, there are also free and paid activities on the beach (kayak, wind surfing, etc.). I recommend it!

I will not write about food, animation, cleaning, etc., because it does not matter much with a positive attitude to rest and does not overshadow the rest as inhumane attitude and theft, which in principle happens in this hotel.
We lived in the adult only building, this is a private zone and a separate building with guards around the perimeter, they do not let guests from the usual zones and the level silver zone. The three of us had a rest, me and a couple of friends - we have known each other for many years, we are friends with families, while relaxing in the pool area in the adult only zone, we went with the girl to the beach, leaving three phones and all things at her husband's sunbed. What can happen next at the sunbed in the super protected Private area where the girlfriend's husband and three phones are located ... bingo ... the phone disappears. It was three, it became two, we thought maybe we wouldn't notice the loss)) Our man was only in this area by the pool, went there to the bar 5 meters away and that's it. We return and find that only two of the three phones are left, we run looking, to the toilet, to the rooms, to the beach, searched everything around, realized that we were not fools and went to the reception to ask for help and call the police. There were two Max iPhones and one regular size 15 pro, they took a smaller one. We went to the security at the reception to find out who took the phone, there is a camera hanging over the pool, the detection of this crime is 5 minutes, the camera looks and that's it. They started feeding us breakfast that you don't have the right to watch the cameras, it's all private, we can't show the cameras to the police either. It's all Private. But later they mentioned that there really were two people nearby, but they can't tell who took it because the phone is small. I think everything was perfectly visible there, the question is that they are protecting their own employees. There were practically no tourists by the pool at that moment, and only those who live in this building and of course the staff, but here I will immediately make a reservation that those who are familiar with iPhones, and almost all tourists have them, understand perfectly well that this phone turns to stone in 5 minutes of blocking, so to say that tourists did it it is very stupid of them, of course, having given several thousand dollars for such a hotel, they will steal bricks))) Fortunately, my husband and I have family access and we immediately blocked the phone and connected the locator to observe where he is, and he is in melia in this zone, yes, and walks and spends the night in the building and moves to the beach and along the beach moves a little and so the whole week of observations left vacation. Okay, I'll go back to the staff who "helped" us with finding a phone:

A girl comes, I don't remember the name, speaks a little Russian, says let's go, the police have come to you. Translates: you must write a statement that because you blocked the phone, the police could not find it and we are closing the case))) Ooooh, I had a real laugh through my tears))) of course, I did not write such a thing, and I also told them that I would not write such a thing. I am attaching a statement, but after it the phone turned on and we ran to the beach together with the police, it was already night. Night beach, no one, a lone guard was wandering, and the iPhone is also moving on the beach, no matter how many options there are to think about, I say search this person, they answer me we have this disrespect))) that is, stealing is respect, and searching is disrespect)) I was already making a fuss and some Spanish-speaking tourists who know English came running, I explained the situation to them and they began to negotiate with this guard, they told me that I had the right to touch him superficially, but then apologize, I did not miss this chance, but I did not find the phone, apologized, he could of course to carry this phone anywhere, he was wearing trousers, sneakers, a jacket, a shirt, that is, a complete set. Everyone has closed the issue. I left on 14.09, my friends stayed for three more days, and looked after the beach area, security and other employees, yes, they had some kind of hiding place under the ramp on the beach, but during the day when the phone was shown there, either the staff or the security was always sitting there, and at night the phone or walked around the house in in the adult zone or slept in our building, in principle, the same place where the staff spends the night. Even before this whole night visit to the beach, the translator girl allowed herself to say such a nasty thing: like both we and the police think that you are doing something bad!!! That is, in fact, we were accused of stealing my phone. How do you like that?)) I am not conflicted, but when the situation crosses all such conceivable and inconceivable boundaries, I cannot remain silent, I walked away - I breathed back, I ask - do you really allow yourself the thought that we could take our own phone and deceive you all?! To which she changed her shoes in a second and said: oh, I couldn't say that))))My husband, in parallel with this whole situation, wrote to the melia corporation mail in the melia group grid, there is no response - today it is already October.
The denouement of the story:
18.09 my friends say goodbye to the hotel and fly to Moscow.
I buy a new phone, restore data, put the phone on erasure, it is still locked, erasure does not go, it starts only when there is a network or WiFi.
03.10 the phone pops up on the locator in the province of Hovellanos!!!!
I'm writing to David, he says he's on vacation and will give the information to Carlos and the police. But again, a question for the hotel: even now, when you are given the exact coordinates of the province in Cuba, you can't see who from this adult only zone lives in this province?!?! Is the hotel really going to answer even after that that our staff couldn't have done it, that these are all bad tourists!!! Yes, all the tourists have already changed ten times and left for their countries. The cameras, if the security service "looked", said that they could not see who took what, like a small phone, it was just a cover for their employees, who shared with whom, I do not know, but it's terrible that the network of world-class hotels allows such lawlessness. The phone has been walking around the hotel for 20 days!!!! And I have the main question directly to the Melia head office: do you really care so much about your guests?!?!
P.s. I was at melia in Bali this year, everything was fine, I did not observe such an attitude towards guests. But after this trip, this is definitely my last stay in the group of these hotels.

One of the best, if not the best hotel on the coast!
The territory is huge. Clear.
Food - by the standards of the culinary unpretentious requirements of the local population - the food is super! We were intimidated by the fact that there is nothing, there is no food, there is everything on the buffet to have a delicious and satisfying meal. There are no usual ordinary potatoes and not always pasta. There are other side dishes, lots of meat, eggs in all kinds, salads, vegetables, ice cream, etc.
Snacks/buffets are open all day and at night. Drinks are available all day and night.
There are 4 or 5 (I don't remember) alyakart restaurants on the territory - sign up and please, everything is included.
The most important thing is a wonderful beach!! A good entrance for children, long shallow.
We were in January, out of the cons, very very damp - the bed, things, because of the ocean nearby or the season?? We still haven't figured it out. It's a nightmare for me, but the hotel is not responsible for it.
And, I don't know, it's also a mini minus - but the pillow on the bed is one long sausage for the whole bed - one for two))) It's inconvenient, very much.

We rested in an adult-only building. Comfortable rooms. The beach is luxurious. There are many restaurants and bars. Although it is a big hotel, there are no crowds. In restaurants, it cannot be said that queues even at peak loads. There was a lot of different food, but it was not delicious. Juices and fermented milk are not possible at all. They didn't check into our room at first. They were relocated at the insistent request after settlement with banknotes. But they allowed departure at 16 o'clock without additional payment. And three cockroaches met in different places. Apparently, there is nowhere in Cuba without them.

Melia International Varadero Cuba. We are vacationing at this hotel for the second time, the first was in 2023. We booked a hotel in 2024 on our own through the website Melia.com . It turned out to be twice as cheap as through Pegasus. We flew with Russia Airlines directly from Moscow to Varadero. Tickets were bought on the Airport's website. Upon arrival at the hotel, we immediately paid with a mir card at the bank's exchange rate (in our case, the VTB rate was 1 RUB more expensive than the Central Bank rate). There is no point in overpaying Pegasus and other idlers. They don't do anything at all. The hotel is not old, in good condition. It is advisable to take rooms with a level Level. They are better, the terms of service are slightly better, but more expensive. The service is the same as everywhere in Cuba- do not hit the recumbent)). But there is obvious progress compared to last year. The food is also quite decent. But the restaurants in Varadero have gone off the rails. It has risen in price by 40% over the year. The quality of the food has become worse. I recommend ordering lobsters for an additional fee for dinner at the hotel, it turns out to be significantly cheaper. In addition, the hotel brought absolutely fresh lobsters, while most restaurants in Varadero have frozen Chilean ones. This is the most terrible hotel in my life and just a ruined vacation for which we paid almost 500t for 2 people.! We were in Cuba for the second time, we know this country and their situation perfectly well, so we chose the most expensive hotel so that everything was on the level! As a result, we received completely dead rooms where they give you 2 towels, dirty bed linen, a yellow curtain in the bathroom with water pressure that you will wash your head for 40 minutes, a plastic bathtub that weighs 60 kg. goes down and returns when you come out of it, workers who can come to you at any time without warning for some reason, and if you are in the room, then you are kind of confused and go to climb through the rooms further, maybe there will not be someone in the room, on a huge and completely take away the hotel, 2 elevators that often break down, we lived on 8 and to go down I had to stand and wait for 7 or more minutes, which was simply unbearable! They gave 1 bottle of water in the room for the day, if you don't have enough, then that's your problem! Ask for a non-alcoholic mojito at the bar, they will definitely confuse it and bring it with alcohol! Everything is old there, although they wrote that the hotel is new: the door handle in the toilet on the street was broken, a woman slammed me in fright and I sat screaming for help for 20 minutes, the beach is dirty, did not clean at all, umbrellas are scary and dead, you need to pay money to help you find a place, half a cent is left for the whole day, in another hotel in Cuba, this was monitored and they did not allow you to book just without visiting, there is no! Background
We visited Cuba for the first time in 2018 at the Brisas del Caribe Hotel. Bad luck with the weather, cockroaches everywhere, a cockroach in a croissant, the stench in the dining room (they called it nausea), everything is old, there is no water in the hotel, everything is terrible. The rest ended with poisoning, loss of consciousness, hospital, a night on a drip. We promised ourselves: never.... No, it's not like that. We will NEVER return to Cuba.
History
February 2024. The decision to fly to Cuba again. We are choosing one of the best hotels in Varadero. The Melia Internacional Hotel.
February 05 departure. Nordwind car company + we buy tickets at the emergency exits for 5k + footstools = our own mini business class, the flight was wonderful!
But the whole flight we tried to persuade ourselves to give a chance, look at Cuba with a fresh look, try not to remember the last vacation and ... It worked!
Maybe for those who are new to Cuba, everything will be bad in Melia, BUT we have experience and Melia is a wonderful hotel to visit this country. It's new, there's no smell of nausea, it doesn't look like Cuba at all, and that's a plus.
The rest is not spoiled, I liked the hotel.
We left on February 16, but we are returning there in August, planning a wedding ceremony.
By the way, we were in the standard, without a level. We have not seen and do not see the point and the big difference. For me, this is not a country where super service will really be provided.
And now, in more detail, the pros and cons in my opinion.
Positive:
+New. Everything is beautiful, the furniture is normal, the bed and mattress are huge, the room looks modern and the whole area is clean.
+Food. We did not go, we did not see cockroaches (it is clear that they are everywhere and in all hotels. But then we did not meet their eyes). Tomatoes are green, sometimes red, cucumbers have always been green. Meat and fish are always fried for lunch and dinner. Rice is always there. The pasta appeared in the middle of the rest. An octopus was seen once, a lobster once, but everything was quickly taken away. It's better to have a little, but it's okay, than a lot and it's unclear what! But sweet is love, very tasty. There are no fruits :(
+ Beach and ocean. Sun beds have always been found, you can ask the beachboys to put an umbrella wherever you want. Yes, from the side the beach is like Anapa, but there were few people in the water. Sometimes the illusion was created that you were alone at all. Do you want to be on the beach alone? Step 100 meters to the side and drift)
Supposedly, the level has a better beach ... yes, there are fewer people there, but there are incomprehensible beds without a special roof, the sun is always like a grill there. We often saw level bracelets on the usual zone ... we did not understand why they were not in their zone, but we did not sweat much, we rested.
Minuses:
- Animation. The most interesting thing is the live music on the second floor of the pool bar. It's very cool and atmospheric. There are dances by the pool. But everything else is a failure for me. Evening animation is held on the 1st floor in the conference room. It's terribly stuffy in there! Dancing at the level of a school production.
- Bar and drinks. It is impossible to drink. They pour so much alcohol that it is unrealistic to drink. And if it's poured properly, it's still tasteless. They always left half-finished cocktails. We took mojitos in thermal mugs at the bar, well, it's normal, everything else sucks. In the end, they took a separate coke and grew separately and stirred themselves in a normal dosage.
? Bars and clubs on the 10th floor. They write that it's delicious and there are parties ... but where? We went upstairs three times at different times and there was... no one there. Although no, I'm lying, people like us who just decided to look in

Melia International Hotel is one of the best in Cuba. 10 days have passed without noticeably. There were expectations for more, but Cuba is making its own adjustments. There is a shortage of beef, lamb and seafood, as well as paper, chocolate and good coffee.
You definitely need to take wet wipes, hygiene products, cigarettes, sweets with you (Cubans love them very much) It is very expensive to buy locally and there are problems with the assortment.
The beach is great, the hotel is clean and beautiful against the background of others, the rooms are well cleaned.

My review of the Melia Internecional Varadero Hotel. We are here for the second day, the desire to buy a stupid return ticket, and fly home, and then sue the tour operator for selling such hotels.
We bought the tour from Biblio Globus, gave 6800 dollars for three, bought the standard.
The meeting at the hotel takes place at the dorm check-in level! You go to the reception with your suitcases, no drinks for you after 14 hours of flight! No porters, it's 5 *, you check in yourself, and then you drag your suitcases to the room yourself, you look for where he is, no one accompanies you, and does not tell you what and how it works in the room, the dorm level. Even at 3* in Tae, the porter escorts you to your room, and tells you where to be, but there is no hotel card or anything!
Upon check-in, we were accommodated in a room with a view of the production facilities and the air conditioning system. The door to the room simply did not open and did not close, the room is dirty, we sin that in Thailand they do not clean the rooms well, but there is just dirt, dust on the cabinets is centimeter, I always treated it calmly, but here it's just tin, dirty bed linen, dirty towels with someone else's hair, and their only three for three, that is, there are no towels for the face, and for the hands too, there is nothing in the bathroom except soap! Not even a bathing cap. There are no slippers in the room, which are even in threes, they now cost pennies. There is no tea or coffee, although there is a kettle. Today there is cola and orange soda in the mini-bar, tomorrow there is not, but the staff at the hay bars, after closing, begins to share cola and fanta with each other with a scandal. There are 4 buttons on the safe in the room, it looks like it would be easier to turn around.
Dining and food are a separate topic, there is nothing at dinner at 5 *, from the word at all, the food is not edible, there is no wine, only water, the juice that they call juice, is also just muddy water. You have to stand in line for a piece of meat, the most trash is fried cucumbers, these are all vegetables for dinner, everything else is of such a kind that there is not even a desire to try it, all desserts still need to be so spoiled!!!! The only thing you can eat is ice cream.
Near the vat of soup, cockroaches just walk on foot, they are not even chased, it is their interior instead of wine.
Let's move on to breakfast, it's even funnier here, I don't require grouse and pineapples, although pineapples are, but inedible, green, but what almost everyone is used to eating for breakfast is eggs or porridge or muesli: but there is nothing!!!! Even eggs!!!! There is an incomprehensible slurry, as if with flour, like egg dough from which they offer you to make an omelet, but I assure you it is not edible. The cockroaches have not gone anywhere, in the morning they walk around the installation in which the juice is mixed, well, that's a big word, because whatever is called juice is just turbid water, you don't even understand what, it is painted over. For breakfast, you will be offered stewed cabbage, green peas, fried onions, stewed carrots, and sweet potatoes in water. You eat at 5 * in Cuba, you want champagne, you haven't heard that here, they're not supposed to say! Desserts: in all hotels of the world, they come mainly in the form of semi-finished products, how can you spoil the puff pastry so that it is rubbery and stinks of old butter. After them, insane heartburn begins.
Bars: in bars, there is nothing to compare the assortment with, in general, swill of unclear quality, the same taste but in different bottles, the taste of whiskey, tequila, cognac and Rum is all one taste of Cuba!!!
Do you still want to come here for that kind of money? Cuba and rum, cigars, coffee died with Fidel.
When contacting the guide Manuel Biblio Globus, he simply said that he was not responsible for the hotel, and only needed to communicate with hotel representatives, and quickly left, the tour realized that it would not work to sell, and he had nothing to catch here.
That is, Biblio Globus does not bear any responsibility when selling hotels and providing such a service!!! Even at the car wash, after washing your car, they are responsible for the service provided and the quality, but here they are not responsible for anything! Somehow it is quite strange, and therefore the hotel does not care what service it will provide you, for your considerable money.
Now the level level that we were offered to buy, after our indignation at the hotel, and it does not include anything very new, this level just meets at least some requirements of a 5* hotel, I will clarify at least some! And not a privileged level!!
They told us to pay $ 1000 extra for three, and then you have champagne and jamon for breakfast, but that's where all the prosperity ends, you can still use one bar that works from 12 to 22, but they couldn't show us what was there, since it didn't work.
In general, after such a Cuba, I want to go home, wash up and forget it like a terrible dream! Only no one will return the money for a spoiled vacation!!!
