A nice wide pebble beach, plenty of space, there are changing cabins, free toilet, shower, cafes nearby, a grove with Pitsunda pines. I don't like the statue itself, I don't understand why this unpleasant Greek epic is on a family beach. It was possible to create something positive

The beach is good, I saw dolphins near the shore, there doesn't even seem to be any garbage. Food stalls, a Ferris wheel nearby, and a statue are remnants of an ancient, more advanced civilization.

I didn't like this monument - it was too gloomy. At the southernmost tip of Cape Pitsunda, a 5-meter bronze statue of a woman clutching two small children stands black. Her face is full of love and anger, and a sword is hanging on her left hip. Tangled hair flutters behind his back, like a tangle of snakes. One arm embraces his sons, the other is ready to draw a blade from its scabbard. This is how the Georgian artist Merab Berdzenishvili depicted Medea, the heroine of the ancient epic about the Golden Fleece. The tragic story of the princess began with the fact that the ship Argo sailed from afar to the shores of Colchis under the command of Jason, sent by an evil uncle in search of the legendary Golden Fleece — an eternal source of wealth and power. The task was deadly — Jason had to fight with an entire army and defeat the dragon guarding the fleece. He would have been killed, but the daughter of the king of the Kolkhov fell in love with the young foreigner, who, at the same time, was also a powerful sorceress. She drugged the dragon with a potion, stole the fleece with Jason, and fled on a ship from her father's anger. Their ardent love did not last long. After returning home, Medea repeatedly used her witchcraft to kill, as a result they had to flee the city. And then Jason left Medea to marry another princess. An enraged woman stabbed both of his sons in front of his father. This tragic moment was reflected by the sculptor in his work.
