Everyone's tastes are different, everyone is looking for different things from a vacation on the island. But for my family, Lamai has been and remains for more than 10 years a favorite beach and place to live on Koh Samui.
These are almost imperceptible tides, normal depth, and the absence of traumatic rocks and corals (although they also exist, opposite Utopia).
This is also the absence of loud annoying music (although in 2024, on the site of the former German hotel the Veranda, the kind-hearted owner of which gave his soul to God on this beach, now some kind of a new model and just the same they drive a stupid absolutely cacophony, music can not be called. I really hope this will not take root on Lamai).
Anyway, it's quiet and beautiful here in the mornings and evenings.
In the direction of the Hin Tai and Yai stone causeways, you can walk, however, to take pictures on huge stones against the background of these pebbles, you need to go up to the street almost in front of them and walk a little before them and again descend to the coast.
On the other side, towards Chaweng, although the white sand with palm trees is disgustingly shallow and rocky - there is absolutely nothing to do in the sea.
There is also a stinky river flowing in. It is interesting only for large lazy monitor lizards, which can sometimes be seen from a bridge on the road, and an exchanger that can surprise
sometimes the course is even more profitable than in Lotus's.
There are hotels on Lamai for every taste and budget:
From the penny new Hut on the same stinky river, to the expensive Utopia and quite a budget Magic Resort with separate houses. There is also a Marina Villa - with separate hotel-type rooms and many transitional forms of diverse housing.
The weather here is always moderate. It was both in the Russian summer and autumn - we never suffered from the rains. Quickly and everything is dry again. More often at night.
I love Lamai.
The beach is super! The water in the sea is clean and warm, there are not so many people swimming, the atmosphere is calm, I definitely recommend this beach! The beds are paid, but if you buy something from food or drinks in a cafe, then the sunbed is free.
I love this beach, my favorite on the island) Especially the central part. This year we stayed at the Cocout Beach Hotel, opposite which there is a natural shade from the trees on the beach. Nearby on the beach there is a cafe Bambu and Cactus, which have excellent breakfasts. The beach is long, wide, the sand is pleasant, it's cool to walk at any time of the day. Within walking distance of attractions such as the stones of Grandma and Grandpa, an observation deck
