Like a park-like cultivated location. A fjord-type lake with parking lots, toilets and gazebos. A good option is to have lunch in the gazebo, walk for an hour. The threshold is more beautiful than the end point itself. However, it is better to see for yourself

I recently made a wonderful trip to Kolsai Lake through the Almaty tour tour operator in July, and I was left with only positive emotions. It all started with a well-organized transfer from Almaty to the lake. The driver was professional and friendly, and we didn't have any problems on the way.
Arriving at Kolsai Lake, I was amazed by its incredible beauty. The blue water and the surrounding mountains created an impressive picture. The guide accompanying our Azat group was very competent and informative. He shared interesting facts about nature, history and local attractions.
We spent several hours on the lake, where we could enjoy its beauty, stroll along the shore or rent a boat, catamaran, for a walk on the lake. The impressions of this place are simply unforgettable.
Overall, the trip to Kolsai Lake through the Almaty tour operator was a wonderful experience. The organization was impeccable, and the places we visited left an unforgettable impression

A beautiful place! We drove from Almaty by car in 4.5 hours. Along the way, we stopped to take pictures on a black horse. Kolsai lakes (there are three of them) are very beautiful. There are many cafes and shops there. There are ethnic villages with yurts. There is a hotel.

The lake is beautiful. It is advisable to go there on a weekday. We were on Sunday, there were a lot of people. We still need to go down to the lake. First there is an asphalt road, then steps, there are many of them, then a boardwalk along the lake. A great place to walk with your family and solo. clean air, muddy in the off-season. There is a cozy cafe with a view of the first lake and a good assortment of dishes. The food is generally delicious. If you decide to take a horse ride, take a guide and get ready for 10/10 extreme horses. To go to the toilet, stock up on change. I definitely recommend you to visit.

An amazing place, incredibly beautiful, the car ride from Almaty took about 4 hours. Along the way, you can visit the canyons. The quality of the road is good almost along its entire length, there is a place, about 10 km, where the road is broken, but if you drive slowly, then everything is OK.

Right on the cliff they placed an excellent restaurant with a veranda and a view of Lake Kolsai itself!!! The restaurant pleases with hospitality and good cuisine, next to the restaurant you can arrange horseback riding, the price for one, if my memory does not change, is 10k TENGE. But there are two routes, one for an hour and the other for longer. You can choose the guys will tell you everything))) well, the coolest thing is that they placed great houses behind the restaurant, there are houses right with a panoramic view!!!) In the houses themselves, everything is very good and convenient, for those who are cool at night there are heaters, but I will say the houses are well insulated, the heater was never useful to us))) in general, you can relax and improve your health very well, mentally I said) p.s. if you want to go after Kolsai to Kayinda, then save the receipt that will be issued to you at the entrance where the Slag heap, this receipt works for these two zones, otherwise you will pay twice as we do)))) have a great holiday!!!)

The place is beautiful. Like many places in Almaty. The steep descent to the lake, and accordingly the descendants of the ascent, give a good cardio load. You can wet your feet, but not for long - the water is still high-altitude)
It's good that boating was moved further into the lake and fenced off. They would greatly spoil the landscape by swimming next to ordinary walkers.

Lake Kolsai Nizhny is a place you need to visit! Visiting all three lakes will be a big deal, but for this you will have to recharge with a large amount of determination and do not forget to take a backpack with you, as well as a means of protection not only from insects, but also snow leopards, bears and other less dangerous creatures. There is a huge parking lot on the lake with a chain of cafes with pies for skewing and more serious grub. At the time of this comment, in August 2023, car travel costs 200 tenge for parking and 800-900 tenge per person (time restrictions are not fixed). I advise you to visit this place as soon as possible, the lakes in Almaty dry up faster than I type this review...
