A place worth visiting. It is located on the embankment in Side, free to visit. The view is impressive: something ancient plus a delightful sea, next to a bay with modern ships and boats. There are streets with shops and cafes nearby, everything looks very European.
There is also a museum part with the rest of the ruins nearby, admission for September 2024 is 17 euros per person, but payment is only in local lira (the cost in lira is not indicated, probably due to rampant inflation). Whether it makes sense to pay this amount is up to everyone to decide. It's probably more economical as part of the tour.
I have long dreamed of visiting this place. I strongly recommend you to visit. It is very interesting to observe and walk among the history. It's very crowded and has its own atmosphere. I really liked it. Get ready to walk a lot. But you can shorten the walking route either by a special train for 1 euro or by a golf cart . Of course, you can also take a taxi. When it gets dark, everything plays with completely different colors with the backlight. You definitely need to visit in the evening
A pleasant historical place. There are floors under glass where excavations are visible. The architecture is majestic, there is more of it in Greece, but here you can also see the amphitheater and majestic columns, plus the sea is simply unrealistically beautiful. Go up a little higher and drink a pomegranate beer, only here such a saw is very tasty. There is a windowless minibus to the tour buses, take a ride too. The photos speak for themselves.
It's a very atmospheric place. Old Side is beautiful and calm. There weren't many people in January, so you could enjoy this beauty almost alone.
A local priest has been holding a service near the Temple of Apollo for the feast of Epiphany for several years.
A very cozy and atmospheric place on the waterfront. The Temple of Apollo attracts with its ancient rigor and harmony. A favorite place for photo shoots not only for tourists, but also for newlyweds. It is especially good at sunset and with boats on the sea horizon .
A very beautiful place in Side!
It's great to stroll through historical sites!
We walked on our own without an excursion, we really liked everything.
I recommend it in the evening, beautiful lighting and not as hot as during the day.
The views are amazing! The architecture is fascinating! Cafes and shops are expensive. At the time of our visit, reconstruction was underway, but it did not prevent us from enjoying the views. In addition to the buildings themselves, there is a very beautiful beach and nature.
A great neighborhood. There are fragments of history on every street. I recommend both watching with a group guide and taking a private walk. There are recommended routes, but you can also come up with your own options right on the go. Do not forget that the stones cannot be carried away
An interesting landmark place. It is mandatory to visit and, preferably, with a tour of the old Side.
We got to the amazing sunset and watched a photo shoot of a beautiful couple of newlyweds.
Guys, this is just Wow! There are no words, see the photo. By the way, the amphitheater and some other locations are currently being restored. It is good that they preserve historical values. Entrance to some locations is paid. The Temple of Apollo itself can be viewed for free. By the way, I recommend visiting in winter. It is very sunny here, sometimes even hot, while there are no crowds of tourists, you can easily take great photos and just admire the sights.
It's a wonderful place!
We were there at sunrise, the view is certainly fascinating and the atmosphere itself.
I advise you to visit, the place is historical and the realization of how old these buildings are is staggering.
All the cafes in this place are very unusual, the food is delicious, but at a cheap price (3 salads and 3 non-alcoholic cocktails - 10,000 rubles). Almost all the sights are behind the fence, far away. Admission is 17 euros per person (for a family of 4 people, about 9,000 rubles, this is for admission). I do not recommend going here on an excursion, perhaps it would be different with an interesting guide...
A very atmospheric place at the end of Nar Street, which stretches along the marina of the ancient city of Side. The ruins of an ancient temple are several columns of the Corinthian order and fragments scattered picturesquely around. It's a great place for photos.
We were a family here on a guided tour. It's more interesting with a guide, of course. The scale of the ancient Side and the thoughtful design of the city itself were shocked. Sailed by ship, be ready to take a bath, bring praise to the local gods and welcome to the city. The toilet was exclusively for men. The theater is exclusively for wealthy people. But there is a fountain with running water for everyone. There was no beach in the modern sense, because all the waste and sewage flowed into the sea, and therefore there were no such options as sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the sea. The territory is large. The heat in August, of course, shortened our walk, and I so wanted to sit in a cafe by the sea, dream and admire the remains of the temple of Apollo and Athena. I am glad that local archaeologists are actively working on restoration in any weather and maybe in a couple of years the main puzzles will be assembled.
If you want to touch an ancient landmark, then come here. Beautiful photos are provided: during the day-on the seashore and overlooking beautiful yachts, at night - beautiful lighting. And most importantly, you can touch everything and imagine what these columns could have seen over a millennium if they had eyes.
The most famous and accessible attraction in Side. A beautiful place, textured ruins. It is better to study the information about the temple and the remains of the Old City around it in advance, it will be more interesting to explore.
Side is a wonderful town! Very cozy and cute. A place where the past and the present are united. The old city can be called an open-air museum, with glass floors under which the remains of ancient structures have been preserved, also in the city there is a large amphitheater, a museum of antiquities, columns - the remains of ancient streets and what remains of the temple of Apollo - columns at the entrance to the temple. So far, Side is a favorite place in Turkey, quiet and calm during the day, but reviving in the evening when the heat subsides.
A beautiful place in the old town of Side. A beautiful promenade with cafes and restaurants. A place where you can touch the history, enjoy the dishes and the beautiful scenery of the sea.
He's just beautiful! You can walk around the old Side for hours. According to legend, it is the meeting place of Queen Cleopatra and the commander, her beloved Mark Anthony. 2nd century BC! Earthquake- only 5 of the 66 columns remained. It's amazing to see the lights on in the evening!
Side is a wonderful open-air museum. Clean, cozy, beautiful, but really expensive. In addition to the Temple of Apollo, there are a huge number of other archaeological sites, there is something to see.
It is very beautiful, I advise you to look at those who are vacationing in Side. Beautiful photos are being taken, goddesses drag your Apollons there. Admission is free
Very well preserved ancient buildings, excavations and restoration are being carried out. While everything can be viewed for free, I recommend it if you are interested in history and ancient architecture. Also the sea, nice sandy beaches. Restaurants on the shore are expensive, prices in euros are 20-25 e for a hot dish.
With a guided tour, everyone gallops through Europe, they don't give much free time, I didn't have time to really check it out, the purpose of the tour was to sell more oil, that's where we stayed indefinitely.
I recommend a nice and inexpensive family bus ride for those who are vacationing near this place. There are cafes on the shore and of course souvenirs).
A great place to walk, both during the day and in the evening - it opens in different ways. I really like the old town, its flavor and views of antiquity are amazing in their scope.
The Temple of Apollo in Side, according to local guides, served as a meeting place for Queen Cleopatra and commander Mark Anthony. Which is quite possible if you remember that the building was erected in the 2nd century BC, although there is no documentary evidence of the legend. 8 centuries later, it was demolished by an earthquake along with the nearby temple of Pallas Athena (or Artemis). The natural disaster deprived us of the opportunity to admire the beautiful creation of ancient Roman architects on the shore of the azure sea, but even its ruins are admirable.
The Temple of Apollo was surrounded by 66 columns along the perimeter, only 5 of them stood, the rest lie in the rubble that littered the entire territory. White marble 9-meter pillars with Corinthian finials support the corner of the pediment with bas-reliefs of the Gorgon Medusa. The path to the columns through the ruins is fenced with a metal mesh, through which you can see the surviving foundations, fragments of walls and ceilings. The fine work of the stone carvers, whose tools were only hammers and chisels, is amazing.
Access to the ruins of the neighboring temple is closed, everything there is hanging by a thread and can collapse at any moment. In the evenings, the lights turn on, and the columns seem to float above the waves in the rays of the spotlights, it looks especially romantic from the side of the boat, and even more wonderful — from an expensive yacht.

From the ruins of the temple, one can judge the grandeur of the building that was here before. Beautiful views of the sea and the port, the temple itself is in good condition for its age and access to it is free. Nearby there are many cafes where you can have a snack and admire both the views of ancient architecture, as well as the views of the sea and the port.
It is very beautiful and atmospheric. You can go ashore with the natural coastal rock and enjoy the foam waves rolling in. To look into the distance of the sea, to mentally transfer to another era. It should be noted that ancient buildings were built from this rock. There are similar blocks along the shore (unclaimed or something)). Decorative fragments of columns can be seen in the pits of the excavation.
Guys, it's sooo beautiful, be sure to go, in the evening there is a backlight, people are walking, taking pictures, the sea is noisy nearby, a light breeze and the rustle of waves, beauty.
A good place for a photo shoot, there are many shops and cafes nearby, it is expensive.

Very beautiful! I recommend you to visit. It would probably be more interesting to have a guide. It's crowded. It is very sunny in the afternoon, an open space, it is better to take a hat and water))
A beautiful place worth visiting. But it is best to visit in the evening. There will be a backlight and there will be less heat. And the photo will be more beautiful at sunset.

Side's business card! There used to be a trading port for the Romans. It was built in the ll century AD. It was destroyed during an earthquake in the 10th century. There are many attractions left. It is open to the public around the clock. There are many cafes, souvenir shops. It's great to take a walk, sit with a view of the sea! Gorgeous pictures! An atmospheric place. I recommend.
An interesting, beautiful place, but there is a lot of garbage on the side of the road (cans, bottles, papers, etc.), it seems that they are not being cleaned.
People still could not solve the mystery of who built this creation and how!? For the last millennia, scientists from all over the world have been racking their brains and the right answer is before your eyes!
Everything is very beautiful! Cool, cool, thoughtful! Perfectly crafted columns and patterns on them, it would be very interesting to see how the lapot peasants worked on this beauty with a hammer and chisel. I strongly recommend you to visit
A beautiful place, the temple is very simple but beautiful, it is very beautiful around, I can lay out the sea, white sandy sand.

Interesting "ruins"
There is no cultural program in Side, where there is nothing but hotels and shops with consumer goods for tourists.
A beautiful temple
A good place for a photo shoot. The photos are beautiful
Beauty. I advise you to visit. The old town of Side is a miracle. The atmosphere itself disposes to rest.
I really liked the architectural monument, a great place for selfies.
