An interesting and beautiful place, a natural landmark. There is a small parking lot downstairs. After the Charyn Canyon in KZ, of course, it is not very impressive, but I recommend visiting. You can climb upstairs, you can wander downstairs. The visit will take 30-60 minutes, which is enough time to see the canyon. There is a checkpoint where they charge a little money for entry. We were there in the summer of 2022

We were in July 2024 - this is an incredibly beautiful place. The colors of the canyon shimmer from yellow to terracotta. Bizarre mountains where you can see people's faces. Everything is available. We arrived by car, and immediately found ourselves in beauty. We went up to the top, and there Issyk-Kul is visible. I recommend this place to everyone.

The Fairy Tale Canyon was visited in September 2023. It's hot, take the water with you. Sneakers or special shoes, sandals will be uncomfortable. Unusual landscapes.. Beautiful views, as if you were on Mars ... you will get interesting photos. Before entering the canyon, you can climb up, there are yurts and cafes, a beautiful view of Issyk Kul opens. Of course, it's a long way from Cholpon Ata, but we liked it, I hope you won't be disappointed.…

The location is beautiful in places. You can climb on the sandstone, the height difference is about 100 meters maximum. Some trails are dangerous. It's easy to get lost. There is practically no shadow. I strongly recommend not climbing without good shoes.
They charge 50 SOM per person for entry, it is not clear why. There are many other places with much better views in the mountains on the southern shore of Issyk Kul.

A unique place. You can walk along the trails. You can't do it. I don't have to splice to climb to the top. There are other passages. Even the road is inside. We were looking for the heroes of the fairy tale. They are there.... I wish you to find them too. The visit time is at least an hour. And if you want a photo, then 2 hours.

Honestly, this is not a canyon, well, it's interesting if you haven't been to the Altai Mountains on Mars in Russia, the clay color is different, the checkpoint costs 50 som per person, 2 km from the checkpoint. It's worth a visit, but of course it's worth it if you haven't seen Mars in the Altai mountains.

How to get there?
The fairy tale is located on the southern coast, near the village of Tosor. You need to go along the Balykchi-Karakol road, turn approximately at one hundred and twentieth kilometer. There you will see a large signpost.
The canyon is very beautiful and what is most convenient is small) you can get around everything in an hour. There is a khan's throne at the entrance where you can take pictures.
