45 km from Fethiye, there is one interesting "miracle" of nature - the Saklikent Gorge. Its length is about 18 km, but only 2 km is available for tourists, the height of the rocks is 200-300 meters, and a river with cold mountain water flows below. In fact, the path through the gorge turned out to be difficult, slippery stones, water somewhere hides the foot, and somewhere up to the waist, in places it was necessary to climb large stones with a rope. Coral slippers were even poorly protected from sharp pebbles. But the views are certainly magnificent.

It 's not always possible to look at the canyon from above . Here is a great opportunity to be at the bottom of the canyon and walk to such a depth that a narrow strip of sky remains. The hike is not for everyone, my friend could not stand the cold water at the very beginning and did not go, but I calmly overcame all the stone obstacles on the way in flip-flops on thick soles. My husband was wearing flip-flops with thin soles and felt every stone talking . But the greater discomfort is from slippery clay, so you should not rush and look at your feet, although the views are amazing

You need to go yourself, since the length of the canyon is 18 km, excursions go along the first 300 meters, where there is a tavern and bridges are laid. You will have to walk knee-deep in dirty water, often climbing over rocks, so shoes are definitely not sandals. But about a kilometer from the entrance, the walls of the canyon almost converge and you walk almost like in a cave. The height of the walls is 200 meters. The views are amazing and it's not hot.

Great views, but lots of people. Parking is paid, but you can park your car for free at one of the many restaurants at the entrance if you have lunch with them. And so they did. The passage through the canyon is forded. In places, the water is above the knee. The bottom is mostly stacked with large stones, shoes need to be chosen accordingly.
