I had a rest in December 2024 for a couple of weeks (including Christmas). The hotel is quiet, cozy and clean. I liked the hotel: a good buffet, you could always find something delicious for yourself. The food is very spicy and not spicy: those who write that everything is sharp are wrong. For example, there is spicy rice with curry, and there is regular rice. And so it is in almost everything. Different types of meat, seafood, fruits, pastries, etc. Cocktails made from local alcohol (arrak) are simply great. They have a Christmas dinner on Christmas Day. Very pleasant staff: unobtrusive and always ready to help. The hotel is not crowded, pleasant, not crowded. It's strange that they say there aren't many Russians here.: there are quite a lot of them here (the Lankans themselves told me about it), they just don't recognize all of them, most likely. For example, I always spoke in English, and sometimes the Russian speakers nearby thought I didn't speak Russian. There is free water, coffee and tea in the rooms. There are local guides on the beach: if you want to go on an excursion, it will be cheaper for them. The rooms were cleaned every day and they did it well. If you leave the hotel and walk down the street, there is an excellent tea shop nearby (you can buy tea at home - the prices are quite affordable, better than in tourist areas). By the way, I was surprised by the security at the entrance to the hotel. There is also a pharmacy nearby (it helped when I got sick) and a supermarket. A calm monitor lizard is strolling around the territory. I've also read bad reviews about this hotel, which is kind of a lie in my opinion. If you like relaxing holidays and magnificent sunsets, go here)
If you're going to travel around the island, then the location probably isn't the best, although I did go on a few excursions.

A great, cozy hotel!There are few Russians , mostly foreigners !I'm glad I ended up here, and not in the neighboring Riu!the breakfasts and dinners are decent, I really enjoyed the Christmas dinner, the unrealistic variety of cheeses, seafood, meat and other things!
The staff is very polite, which makes me happy!the room was cleaned every day , there were no missing items .there was no safe with the star , the guide asked and everything was brought !I lived on the 1st floor, it's very convenient to go out on the terrace to admire nature and drink tea and coffee,water aerobics is sometimes held at the pool, a very fervent parnella animator did not let me get bored, they offer guided tours of the hotel,they sell clothes!She used a taxi and a guide named Burbot, speaks Russian well , treated her to coconut and a whole bag of fruit , went shopping with him, a turtle farm, bentota, in Galle, took her to beautiful locations and photographed herself, for which he was respected, also showed a good massage parlor.I was quite satisfied with the hotel.Thanks to all the staff for my vacation!

Great hotel. Located with a beautiful location. There's a lagoon nearby, and there's also a great viewing platform.

The food is just wonderful, lots of fish, shrimps and crabs. The soups are very satisfying

What a great hotel. We had a rest from January 25 to February 3, 2025. It's just a fairy tale!!! Beautiful territory, clean beach, delicious cuisine, lovely room (cleaned every day), kind, helpful, attentive staff. We were warmly welcomed, and our suitcases were delivered to the room. Our room had an ocean view. The room has air conditioning, a comfortable temperature, comfortable mattresses and fresh white linens. Varied and delicious cuisine. We had 3 meals a day, it was a pleasure to go to the restaurant every time, we were greeted there by caring, kind waiters. We had a great time. It's an unforgettable vacation. I am very glad that we chose this particular hotel, which I want to return to again and again. Thank you very much.

A very decent hotel for Sri Lanka. The level of service is excellent. The first line. Beautiful view of the ocean, where the waves are always raging. Excellent food. It's a little spicy, but you get used to it quickly. Live music in the evenings. There are many local animals on the territory, such as monkeys, monitor lizards, iguanas, and birds. Minus, it's a long way from Bentota and other towns. So if you are not on an all-inclusive basis, you will have to spend time and money on travel and food.

Great hotel. Authentic, quiet. Yes, it's a little old, but everything is clean, tidy, and cozy. Good staff. Sooooo delicious food, we had breakfast and dinner. The dinners are very tasty and varied. The location of the hotel is excellent, there is a supermarket, an alcohol market and fruits nearby. The ocean is gorgeous, as are the sunsets. If you want to swim, there are lagoons to the left and to the right.

There were 5 girls in the company. Of course, this is a fairly family-run hotel, with a calm atmosphere. But it didn't stop us at all, we had a super rest.

The first was Tangale 3 stars, the second was Unawatuna 3 stars,

I must say right away that everything would be OK everywhere, there was nowhere.
Ahungalle Beach.
The coastline is long, I don't know, 5 kilometers, waves, but the approach is quite gentle and long, not deep, which is a plus and a minus. There are probably 4-5 all-5-star hotels on this beach, with the harsh reality of local life outside and zero tourist stories.
The hotel itself, as it turned out, is the first 5-star hotel that was destroyed by the tsunami, but then rebuilt.
The design and architecture, both outside and inside, are excellent, the rooms are coolly decorated, stylish, but still a little damaged if you look closely, but still good.
There is a large beautiful pool in the center of the hotel, and a small one on the side.
Sun beds are available only on the territory of the hotel, 200 meters from the sea.
They try not to let you go with a towel to the sea, every time a showdown begins about this, this is a minus.
We had breakfast and dinner for 19 tr a day. I think the price is completely justified for Sri Lanka, if the goal is just to lie on a chaise longue, not to see any trash on the street and just go for breakfast and dinner, taking 1-2 excursions, so of course you can relax in any country where it's warm and the sea, there's not much difference.
The hotel's guests are mostly elderly Europeans and middle-aged Russians, some with children.
It's clear that everything is mostly all inclusive, I don't know how much it cost, I think it was about 35 tr a day, and that's the problem, 10 days plus a flight turns out to be impressive, but in the end it's so-so, for such money both in Asia and in other countries, you can find a hotel and location many times better.
The weak point of the hotel is food, there are a lot of things and most of them are stupid, tasteless pastries, from bread to desserts and pizzas, something is overcooked or overcooked, something is the opposite, but in general there is a large selection and you can find something, fruits, yoghurts, some kind of grill. It's funny that there are practically no cuts for breakfast, but there are a lot of herbs and greens, which is good. Juices are in glass bottles, but from a bag, it's sad ..
And of course the dress code, you can't sit barefoot at a table here, and by the way there is no normal location on the street, 3 tables on the lawn.
As a result, this is a combination of a beach, a hotel, and the price of the best place, but in 5 days you can be bored out of your mind. I would take this hotel for half a vacation, and half in some other place.
This applies to all beaches and hotels, I was glad that I did not spend the entire 14-day vacation in one place.

Great hotel. We have been resting here for 8 days. We arrived on 03/28/24.the service is good, the staff is responsive and unobtrusive. The food is varied a lot of seafood, fruits steaks pizza soups pasta vegetables sweet biscuits ice cream, dinner is also varied. The room is cleaned every day. There are no insects. Don't believe the bad reviews of a great hotel. Quiet and calm. Live music and songs from entertainment in the evening. Ocean pools there are no complaints. Access to the ocean and the beach directly from the hotel. I would especially like to mention the excellent and varied delicious food at the hotel. And breakfasts and dinners... I want to leave a review about this wonderful hotel.
We had a rest from January 22 to February 1 with the company of 5 girls, conducted women's breathing exercises.
This hotel is designed specifically for relaxation, rebooting.
At first glance, yes, we saw that the hotel was not new, but every day we fell in love with it more and more and you don't notice it anymore.,
A special atmosphere of silence and privacy.
Very friendly, smiling staff.
Upon request, we were given 2 room keys the next day without any problems.
We rented prime deluxe rooms, all the plumbing was working, the rooms were large - the three of us lived quite comfortably.
The rooms were on the 3rd floor, but on different sides of the hotel, the girls had a direct view of the ocean (under the restaurant), we had a garden and the ocean. I was upset at first, but then I saw my advantages - black monkeys were climbing trees in front of me and this had its own charm.
The views are gorgeous, the sound of the ocean and the singing of birds is magical.
The rooms are cleaned every day - it's clean, towels are changed, an extra bottle of water was left, and generally you can see how they try.
In the evening, the floors are cleaned in the lobby, and in the morning from 6:00 the garden and pool are cleaned, and all the furniture is wiped.
We got up early, so we were all watching.
We had breakfast and dinner and were very satisfied - a great buffet and a huge selection of dishes for different tastes.
Another girl and I love spicy food - we tried out the national cuisine - several types of curries (chicken, fish and many more types), legumes, fried pineapples and many other unusual and delicious things.
3 girls are not fans of spicy food - but everyone was satisfied and full - fried eggs, omelet to choose from, chicken sausages, steamed fish, fish in batter, roti (national tortillas), pancakes, waffles, I tried porridge from local cereals - very tasty. Croissants, salted butter, fresh vegetables, herbs, fruits - pineapples, bananas, papaya, sour passion fruit - but I love it and will list it for a long time.
There are questions about the service - you need to slow down a little and wait until they come to you, pour water, and then tea or coffee - but this is Asia😊
Dinners are also delicious - crabs, shrimps, squid
We had oysters and tuna for 2 days.
Chicken, meat every day.
The meat is a little harsh (they don't really know how to cook it), and seafood 💣
If you take shrimps and crabs, ask them to bring water for your hands, we didn't immediately figure it out.
There are no paper napkins on the table, but we asked for them and they brought them to us.
Pasta is different, potatoes in different versions, pumpkin, steamed vegetables.
There are 2 types of soups every evening. I tried tom yam and vegetable cream soup, it's delicious.
There are also various desserts for dinner, one day there was a chocolate fountain, almost always 5 types of ice cream.
There are no questions about nutrition at all - it is varied and delicious .
I fell in love with the national cuisine😍

They are very arrogant, they can lie down on a mat or on a towel to you.
They barked at the locals or at those who ran, but I've never seen them bite. They're doing more of it.
But they're at home here, and as we understand it, there's nothing we can do about them.
The Internet was very good - everything was working everywhere, both in the room and on the beach.
About the territory - beautiful, well-maintained. 2 types of swimming pool.
At lunch, when the sun was hot, we rested on the sun beds in the shade under the trees or under an umbrella in the pool. Rearrange the sun beds, bring a mattress, everyone helps, they bring everything.
Palm squirrels, jaguars, and various birds sing very beautifully on the territory.
It was a great library, where we practiced in the evening if it was raining.
A special atmosphere - very cozy
In the evening, from 19 to 23.00, music is played and songs are sung and gorgeous lighting . 🤩
We admired it every evening.
After the excursions, especially after the 2-day trip, we returned to the hotel - like going home.

I liked the hotel, There are pros and cons of the hotel . The food is excellent, up to fresh oysters, tuna , shrimp, squid and much more.
The rooms were cleaned every day , but they forgot to put a towel for two , or they did not put a towel on the floor , But if you ask them to bring it , they did .
It was convenient on the beach and near the pools (there are 2 of them). Because the staff puts a towel and a mattress on the sun beds. You also don't have to take it. They pick it up themselves when they realize that the customers have left altogether .
Of course , tips are always expected for everything . But they don 't insist .
There are a lot of locals near the beach who impose clothes for sale , it 's a little unnerving .
Alcoholic drinks are all included, but only local. Imported for payment .

We have been resting since December 29th. Nice Sri Lankan hotel. The rooms are normal in size, good food with seafood, there is always something delicious. 2 pools, we prefer the off-center one. They gave us a compliment for the holiday (cake and room decoration). You can earn a cocktail card (add negroni). A calm and understandable rest. We took a guide for a trip to Halle, we can recommend it. Clean rooms, friendly people. I often judge a hotel by its visitors as well - there were no questions at all. Many of them did not come for the first time, and it is clear that they remember and know everyone.

We are currently staying at this hotel, we arrived on March 28, 2024. We chose the hotel for a long time, because. There were conflicting reviews everywhere. But the result exceeded all expectations. The room has slippers, bathrobes, hairdryer, safe, etc. Lived in a room on the ground floor, no insects. But there was a fumigator in the room. They didn't turn it on. The food is excellent. Lots of seafood, pizza fruits, pasta steaks, sweets baked cakes, baked goods. The food is delicious and varied for every taste. We took breakfast and dinner. The hotel has two swimming pools, towels are brought upon request, in the evening they are simply collected. The hotel has direct access to the ocean and the beach, but there are always big waves there. We swam 2 times near our hotel, but the waves were gorgeous. There is a quiet lagoon two km from the hotel along the beach. You can swim there every day. On a tuk tuk 1d in one direction.

The hotel is wonderful, the location, the territory, the staff are very helpful... but there is one thing... You can lie quietly and sunbathe by the pool, but you should go for a swim in the ocean or just go to the beach in the evening to admire the waves..That's where you got it wrong.. A bunch of guides or other obsessive service providers won't give you that opportunity.. They don't understand the word no in any language.. honestly, it really spoils the impression of a vacation ... at the same time, there is a guard on the beach and does not react to it in any way…

The hotel is located on the ocean, the territory is well maintained. The staff tries to please in everything, the rooms are cleaned daily, the buffet is not bad enough. It is impossible to swim in the ocean, because of the huge waves, so we used the services of a local so-called tuk-tuk taxi that took us to the beach where there were no big waves. In general, I liked everything, well, they try very hard, so you close your eyes to minor troubles in the form of missing napkins or not wiped tables in a restaurant)). The level of service is certainly not bad, but of course they have a lot more to develop. I put five stars, but I have a solid four in my mind)).

The sea is warm, there are a minimum of people on the beach, but because of the waves it was necessary to be careful. The hotel is amazing, where you can relax. Firstly, due to the fact that there are few rooms, there are few people, secondly, the food is varied, there is a lot of local cuisine (and it is spicy if anything), there is also European, seafood, meat, chicken, vegetables - excellent. There have been no problems with the stomach for all the days. The Lankans are good-natured, they will help in everything, tell / prompt. Regarding Mosquitoes and insects, treatment in the morning and evening, as well as there were no sand fleas on the beach - another plus for the hotel. Therefore, I recommend the hotel. If you choose between Rui and Heritance, heritance wins)

The hotel is great!
I was with my wife in early April, stayed for 11 days.
- Location is the biggest plus. The hotel is next to the ocean (15 meters), far enough from the noisy road (separated by a garden and a path), closed territory.
- The room is well renovated and the atmosphere is beautiful furniture and lots of wood.
- The hotel is quite well renovated, there is no feeling of "fatigue". There are many fountains and historical artifacts (the hotel itself is more than 70 years old, a building with a history).
- The food is quite varied. A lot of seafood, fruits and vegetables, various sweets (you can find something not too sweet).
- Service - all staff are extremely polite and friendly, ready to help.
Bottom line: a great place to relax, sunbathe and swim in the ocean, forget about home and work and recover!

An excellent hotel with a location in a quiet part of the coast. The beach is incredible - sand, huge territory. Unfortunately, there are no rescuers.
The cuisine is wonderful (buffet), but the restaurant does not have a particularly large selection.

Everything for a relaxing holiday. At ten it's quiet everywhere and you can sleep. Large rooms with ocean views. In the room, tea and coffee. Water. Hygiene kits. Bathrobes and slippers. The food is very tasty, fruits, meat, fish, crabs. Everyone gives. There is an Indian version that is sharper, there is a European version. A choice of all-inclusive meals, breakfast or breakfast dinner. You can have lunch at the a la carte restaurant. Prices are lower than in the restaurant on the beach, which is on the right by the stones.
