A wonderful resort! In terms of price/quality ratio, it's just great!
Lots of trails, lots of lifts, few people, no queues. Very beautiful views. Relatively inexpensive accommodation and ski passes. We lived in an apartment in Novy Gudauri, very good conditions, a few minutes walk to the ski lifts. The people are generally very friendly, the landlord of the apartment we rented offered a late check-out without extra charges so that we could check in before check-in (we changed our plans at the last moment, tried to extend this apartment through the website, but it didn't work out, we rented another one for one night), when he found out that we were already with Gudauri offered to stop by at any time convenient for us. There is a certain amount of hostility towards Russians, abusive inscriptions are present, but we have not personally encountered this, on the contrary, we have seen a lot of good things from the locals.
It's convenient to get there - we flew on a direct flight from St. Petersburg, from Tbilisi - 2.5 hours by car.
Some of the disadvantages are few toilets and expensive food.
Definitely we will come here again!
Pros: excellent weather (case) and gorgeous views, a variety of wheelchairs, especially puffy ones and a lot of off-piste skiing, excellent Austrian and French cabins, not expensive ski passes, the proximity of housing (upper Gudauri).
Cons: there are few trails at all, and even fewer good ones, guns don't work when they can, so there are a lot of stones on the highway, unlike off-piste places, food prices are cosmic, even in the so-called canteens (marketing), there are no close options for an excursion, except Tbilisi.
Bottom line: 3-4 days and somewhere else, especially if without company. Once is enough, we won't eat any more in the coming years.
