Govinda Kunda is a great place, which is associated with many spiritual events. Here Indra, defeated by Lord Govinda, offered prayers to Him and washed Him. With humility caused by intense fear, Indra embraced the lotus feet of Lord Krishna and, together with the cow Surabhi, performed the coronation ceremony of Krishna, Surabhi washed Krishna in milk, and the elephant washed Him with the waters of the heavenly Ganges. Simply by bathing in Govinda Kunda, one attains liberation. Not far from the village of Paitha, there is the village of Aniyore, near which Govinda Kunda is located. There are two temples on its shore: Govinda and Baladeva.
