A wonderful hotel.
It is located in the "old" Gagra.
Quiet, calm, the air is fresh.
There is a lot of greenery on the territory of the hotel, 5 minutes to the sea, through an underground passage, directly to the embankment. There is no beach of its own, but it seems to me that this is not a minus.
The rooms are decent. In the room: bathroom, bed, bedside tables, armchair with coffee table, wardrobe, table. There are also two chairs and a table on the balcony. Everything is clean, the garbage is taken out of the room every day, towels are changed every 2/3 days.
There is also a dining room, you can either buy breakfast, lunch in it yourself, or include it in the accommodation, the prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, the staff is polite.
They can also arrange transfers to the airport, train station, and excursions.
We had a vacation in 2019, with the whole family.
We rented an apartment, it was quite convenient. It was close to the sea, the view from the windows was on the mountains, it was nice.
Shops nearby, pharmacy .The prices are higher than in our city. There is a market if you take a little walk
Four-storey houses, entrances are dirty, there are no glasses in the windows, in general, garbage comes across on the streets, there have been problems with water supply several times.
After the storm, the pumping station did not work, there was no water from morning to evening.
It was at this time that we all had signs of infection with the rota virus.
It's very inconvenient. It feels like it's from a local water park, we went there all day, it's old, Soviet times, like everything around. And hygiene is not in order, especially since local children come and splash around in a crowd, apparently for free and as they want, in any quantity.
So I don't recommend going there.
Even though it's nearby.
We ate in the dining room near the sea
Not bad, you can eat.
Well, they cooked at home accordingly.
In general, the nature is beautiful, there are not many people, the sea is clean, but from the sanitary side, everything is bad.
It's even unpleasant.
We went to Pitsunda, swam there, the sea is cleaner and calmer than in Gagra.
The result is a hard road, a border, a queue, beautiful nature, unsanitary conditions, intestines and treatment at the child's home in the hospital.
It's up to you.
It's a very beautiful place. The sea is gorgeous. There are many possible options where you can stay. But, the infrastructure with canteens and restaurants is frightening. Establishments with decent cuisine can be counted on the fingers of one hand. While I was resting for 2 weeks, I was poisoned three times 🤦🏼♀️
