I recommend going: you can get from summer to winter.
By car, you can get to the place from which you can walk 4-5 km to the top, which is 2-3 hours.
By SUV to the parking lot on the rocky ascent - then a 3.5 km walk through the alpine zone.
It is better to go not by a short road, but by a detour - there is a better road.
You need to go to the start early in the morning, at a maximum of 9 to start the exit: if later, then there is a high probability that the views will tighten the clouds.
The only pity is that the humps of Elbrus are not visible from the top.

We got here first by car, the road is beautiful and, as long as there is asphalt, you can safely drive even a sedan. You can get to the place where the paragliders begin their flight.
Further, only on foot, or with the help of local people in their cars, usually UAZ. The view is certainly magnificent. There are many mountains and you are on one of the peaks.......
