A response to Geely's formal response. Problems are solved only after complaints.
After my previous feedback about the negative experience at the official Geely service center, a formal response was sent to me. I consider it necessary to publicly respond and clarify the situation for future clients.
1. IBS sensor and battery.
The response claims that I turned off the IBS sensor on my own. To clarify, the sensor was turned off after the battery failed after a year of operation. At the same time, the reason turned out to be the incorrect operation of the IBS itself — the battery was constantly undercharged.
After disconnecting the sensor, the problem disappeared. But on the next visit to the service, it was reactivated and flashed, which again led to a deep discharge of the battery (up to 1.9–2.4 V).
After my official complaint, the sensor was replaced, which actually confirms the presence of a malfunction. However:
The problem repeats itself.
My official request to provide written information about the principle of operation of IBS and the reasons for its failures remained unanswered.
2. Belt whistle.
On the first two visits to the service, you confirmed the whistling problem, and it was about replacing the part. It was only after filing a complaint that the whistling was eliminated in my presence and at no material cost on my part. In other words, the service did recognize the problem, but only after pressure from the client. This kind of inconsistency looks like an attempt to evade warranty obligations.
3. Condensation in the rear right headlight.
Initially, the replacement was refused, citing the fact that "this is normal." Despite the refusal to replace it, the headlight was nevertheless replaced only after filing an official complaint, which also indicates an unlawful initial refusal. However, an explanation for why the problem occurred in only one headlight was never provided.
Conclusion:
The service recognized and solved all the problems I encountered only after I sent complaints and insisted on my rights. Communication is formal. The requested documents are not provided.
- If you expect responsible warranty service, be prepared for the fact that you will have to defend your rights persistently. Personally, I would give 0 stars if it were possible.
Advice to those who contact the service:
If you encounter a similar situation, do not rely on verbal promises and the goodwill of the staff. To protect your rights:
- Record all requests in writing. Write official statements and ask for an admission mark. Verbal agreements are easily ignored.
- Request certificates of completed work and diagnostics. This is your only document confirming that the problem was reported and how it was responded to.
- Request written explanations. For example, on the operation of a specific sensor, failure to repair, or interpretation of the norm.
- Don't be afraid to file complaints. Write to the representative office. It's only after complaints that something gets off the ground.
- Take photos and make videos. Document the problem before and after the visit, especially if it concerns sounds, leaks, errors on the screen, etc.
