Almost everything about this experience was poor however I will just highlight the inexcusable parts.
- when my beer came it was room temperature. Hm maybe that’s normal? No, I look at the table behind us and they have two frosty beers. We politely ask the waitress if we could have a cold beer instead. She starts having a fit (stomping around making other tables and the waitresses feel the beer). The table behind us actually start arguing with her in Armenian (likely asking why she would give them cold beers but not us) and have her bring us a cold one. Very nice man, he gave us a little nod and wink after ❤️
- When the bill came we were INCREDIBLY overcharged for multiple things we did not order (see pictures). One was two orders of Lavash. When she brought the lavash I actually showed her it on the menu and said “no we did not order (while pointing)” then again in Armenian said “voch.” She however made expressive hand gestures communicating that we should have it. I said “free?” She nodded. One was 3000 dram Vodka… I’m sorry what?! We wrote into Google translate that we did not order these items. She again seemed to have a fit and stormed off. I was not sure if she intended to return. When she returned we re- explained that we did not order these things. Then she finally brought us a new bill with the items removed.
- However when we paid she decided to push in a bit of pettiness. She told me, no smoking, go over there. Yet the table behind us who had just left had a full ash tray (see picture). The table next to us had just finished a cigarette and lit another one seconds later. Whatever…
It’s surprising that the service was so incredibly poor as the place was packed with people having a great time. Maybe they only treat foreigners (I am Indian and my girlfriend is American) so disgracefully….
A wonderful atmospheric place on the way from Garni through the gorge of the Symphony of Stones to the Geghard Temple.
We chose a table in a separate outdoor house near the river - it was very cozy and intimate!
In the kitchen: one summer salad was enough for two, the trout is cooked amazingly delicious - it's fresh (of course, since trout and sterlet are bred right here) and juicy! Bread is baked here too, homemade compote is moderately sweet and very rich!
I really liked the restaurant! We will definitely come back!
A beautiful place to relax.
Now I'll explain why I'm shooting one star.
Being in a foreign country, you want to relax on vacation. I see the price on the menu and accordingly order according to my budget. But it's not that simple.
The price on the menu for kebabs, grilled fish, etc. is indicated per kg. They can cook a portion of 1.5 fish, and in our case the fish weighed 3.5 kg. Accordingly, the price is multiplied
It's good that we found out in advance, because I personally had a sad experience. But for some reason, the impression still remains with an unpleasant aftertaste. So it seems that they want to deceive you, not telling you and not explaining the nuances.
You're waiting for the bill as a surprise, a roulette game, honestly.
The fish, to my taste, was over-salted. I would use less salt and then the taste of the fish would be amazing.
In general, the place is good, and to be honest, I did not see anything decent in this sightseeing place.
You just need to be more careful with the order, discuss everything in advance.
A great place to relax and enjoy food.
The fish is cooked superbly, so delicious that even the bones could be eaten and not realize that this is the bone part of the fish. We ordered a fish kebab and a ryazhan, which is like the king of dairy products for me💞
Even the coffee tasted different‼️
The staff is gorgeous, the view of the mountains and the gorge is 5+.
Don't miss the chance to visit a great place and taste the Armenian cuisine💞
A great place for a family vacation. Delicious cuisine at reasonable prices. Cozy gazebos for every taste and pocket. Homemade canned food is very tasty. Pools with fish that you can feed or just watch. There are rooms for relaxation. Of the disadvantages, there is a small parking lot. You need to arrive in the morning to take a parking space. Have a nice stay!
This is the worst restaurant I've been able to visit in Armenia. We went to lunch together. A waitress came up to us and offered fish and shish kebab, adding "there are also greens and a salad of tomatoes and cucumbers." We asked for the menu, she reluctantly brought it with the words "there is almost nothing from what is on the menu." As a result, we ordered trout on the grill, lamb kebab, potatoes on the grill, a cheese plate and tea. Tea was brought in 2 minutes - it was tea with cheap Lipton bags. The kebab was dry, the two of us tried it and decided that it was either very old mutton or pork. Barbecue on a solid two points. When the dish was brought, the baked potatoes were frankly cold, not even warm, it was unpleasant to eat them, probably baked in the morning. When they asked for the bill, the waitress came up and verbally announced the amount. No receipt was provided. What I didn't like at all was when I paid, the waitress looked into my wallet and literally demanded to add a tip to her. I was so stunned that I added.
I'm betting two, not a stake, just because the trout was edible.
I advise everyone to shy away from this restaurant.
Delicious fish - there are no words! They cook very quickly. The service is on the level. We will definitely come again. There are also very tasty homemade compotes and a good view of the mountains.
The dishes are delicious, but damn, first of all, the attitude of the staff towards you as walking money, they serve for a long time, they are not particularly polite. There are also a lot of wasps (maybe they just got into this time of year). In short, the fish is delicious, but all other factors spoil the impression.
I have been to the restaurant twice - in the spring of 2023, with a friend and in August 2024 with my family.
The first time I would have put 3 out of 5. We ordered fish soup, salad and compote. The fish soup was too salty, but overall we were satisfied with the visit. We were greeted cordially and affably.
The second visit was a disaster. The service is 1 out of 5 - impolite, unfriendly, long.
Food 1 of 5. We ordered trout on the grill, it was over-dried. We didn't spoil the cucumber and tomato salad. The cheese was just disgusting from under the film, not very fresh. The chicken kebab was completely ruined. We didn't finish anything, we left something whole.
The toilets and the whole place are very dirty. Card payments are not welcome.
I advise you to pay attention to other restaurants in the area, near the temple, this one is very bad.

Delicious, inexpensive, homely, the staff is neatly dressed, friendly, friendly. The area is a bit woody, and there are a lot of dead fish in the pools. Don't expect an expensive restaurant setting from the establishment.
From the menu, definitely, you need to order a sterlet! It's delicious - incredible.
The vegetables did not differ in taste (they seemed like grass).
I recommend a freaky homemade compote, straight from a jar with peaches and cherries.
Wonderful and friendly women work.
The atmosphere is pleasant. The verandas are beautiful.
They couldn't take their eyes off the masonry on all the walls outside the buildings! This is a whole story (ask the staff - they will tell you).
Very tasty, bombically, homemade sour cream mmm top class! Fish - ecstasy
Compote from a jar and homemade cheese is a dump of the head, service is fast, bread of our own production is like fluff. Favorite place🚩
The best family restaurant in Armenia, has its own fish ponds where sterlet and trout are grown, just shows the sterlet you want, they catch and cook it with you, and bring everything accompanying it, salads, pickles, cheeses, sauces, etc
Pros: a fish pond right under the dining area and great fish
Cons: The potatoes were brought cold from the skewer and the lamb kebab was critically over-dried
If you want a delicious farel and not only, come, here people are modest, fastidious, they will feed a
cozy, colorful corner in Garni well, you will remember for a lifetime.
I agree with many reviews - the food does not comply with the price-quality principle, the fish is over-salted and over-dried, the cheese is generally just salt. A feeling of dissatisfaction and divorce for money. Delicious - homemade compote.
A very expensive place with very unfriendly waitresses. Which is very unpleasant, considering the mostly good-natured people of Armenia. They asked for a salad of fresh vegetables - they brought coarsely chopped tomatoes with wildly bitter cucumbers. It was impossible to eat. The grilled pork was great. There are dead fish in trout pools that no one cleans up. The prices are sky-high. 28 thousand drams were paid for one fish and a salad that could not be eaten. And they don't bring change here, keep in mind.
The restaurant is near the basalt symphony, there is its own parking. The food is very mediocre - the kebab was over-dried, charred at the edges and over-salted, the grilled potatoes are also charred at the edges, the tomatoes in the omelet taste like canned (sour and give off marinade). The cucumbers in the salad are still bitter. The compote is good, but it was canned, the pita bread is also not bad, mainly due to the fact that it came straight from the oven.

The freshest fish, a very tasty barbecue of sterlet and trout.
Homemade compote is beyond praise.
When planning time and ordering fish, keep in mind that fish are caught from the fish ponds located here, cleaned and only then cooked, and it takes time. But the expectations are worth it!!!
And what bread from tandoor, the freshest!
Tabouleh, kebabs, tea...
And what wonderful and hospitable people work here!!!
I constantly bring groups to Ishkhannots and never a single complaint!
My best recommendations!!!
Super setting, awesome fish dish, just a super view of nature.I am very glad that I visited this place! I am grateful to those who showed me this beauty
Hello. Today my family and I were in Garni ishkhananots. In addition to fish, we ordered a chicken kebab for children. They brought us undercooked chicken and a misunderstanding instead of homemade wine . In a word, it's a one-stop operation. And most importantly, seeing all this, they do not recognize their lack of professionalism. In a word, the food and service are shlecht, bad.
There is a big question with service and prices - we were a travel company of 5 people (2 couples and a single person) + a tour guide. They asked to make a separate check for everyone so that everyone would pay for themselves, and they all chipped in together for the guide. As a result, checks were brought to everyone in a variety, we got the largest for 33500 drams, into which they stuffed a vegetable salad (which was not on the table) 2 carafes of compote (although there was one) 2 wines (ordered one) and 2 dishes that we did not order. They refused to recalculate, they offered to decide for themselves who would pay for what. We collected all the checks, sat for an extra half hour and counted that in total we were being cheated by 10,000 drams. The waiters refused to count it, they had to go to Yerevan in time and had to pay. The guide could not help in any way, there was a feeling that he was also in the subject. The only unpleasant precipitation in the country for a week. I advise everyone who reads and decides to visit this place to take and write everything down on a piece of paper and show it to the waiter so that there will be no unpleasant situations later.
The restaurant is located next to the Symphony of Stones. We were very hungry and tired. They served us quickly and suggested what was better to order. Ishkhan, shish kebab, beef lula, homemade cheese - everything is very tasty!!!! The waiters are the soul of this place!! I definitely recommend it!👌
The Symphony of Stones is a very beautiful place. This place is a match for him: very tasty, very sincere, very inexpensive, large portions... Awesome, in short. Perhaps the best restaurant-cafe in Armenia, which our family visited during the week. Really. And the homemade wine in it was of great quality, and not vinegar with tartar diluted with water in one very advertised institution on Tumanyan. Such places are remembered for a long time and are stored somewhere in the heart. I want to come back here. I definitely recommend it!
It's very beautiful here, I've never had a chance to eat, but I always take photos for memory, the Garni temple appeared in miniature this year. And I always admire trout and sturgeon.
Great location, there is parking! Attentive and courteous staff! Located among the trees, on a trout farm! Trout are caught and immediately cooked! The portions are huge, and the prices are not high! Very tasty trout on the campfire, trout soup, barbecue, compote! Fast service!
I do not recommend it.
Minuses:
1. There is no menu for a group of 15 people. two menus were brought.
2. They do not have 50% of the dishes and drinks from the menu.
3. Not tasty.
4. The invoice was brought for an amount more than we ordered.
Positive: the murmur of the river))
The food is delicious, they cook quickly. Convenient location, but high prices and a very attractive environment. The waiters do not understand Russian well. Very tasty meat - large portions, worth the money. Great apple compote with honey.
Not a bad place, next to the symphony of stones. A beautiful place, large portions, delicious compote of twists, which is opened in front of you. But I do not recommend taking fish - a worm was found in the grilled trout. The staff refused to admit it, tried to mislead. Be careful when choosing dishes.

A very soulful place, the sound of water, delicious fresh barbecue, hot bread, homemade strawberry compote, Armenian traditional cheese, very decent homemade wine and a magnificent trout that was worth waiting for so long. Live music, the service is a little long, but without errors, nothing superfluous was included in the bill. The price tag is very humane in comparison with Yerevan, thank you for a wonderful evening!
The most delicious freshly caught trout soup I've ever eaten! I also recommend a trout and sturgeon kebab. The price will also pleasantly surprise you!
Everything is very tasty and the beautiful nature around, but the prices seemed too high. Grilled trout, one fish, bread, the simplest salad cucumbers-tomatoes, compote came out at 33,000.
