A great place to relax by the sea. The sea is gorgeous, plus the food. The room is cleaned daily, the territory is clean, the highlight is walking peacocks, guinea fowls, Chinese chickens, a rescued swan, etc. The situation is like in a country house. Well, you can walk around the whole of Gagra in 2 hours and climb the mountains. Abkhazia is a magnificent and beautiful republic. But if you want a normal, decent rest, you need to book a hotel in advance. We managed to urgently book the accommodation option offered by the travel agency. There was a decent, more or less, 3* Gagripsh hotel. I don't know who gave them 3*, there's 1* a lot. I booked, as I wrote above, urgently. The tour cost a lot, 195 for 3 people from Tyumen for 7 nights. When we arrived, we went to the shabby reception, with the sofas torn off. Then we went into the room, booked a 2-room standard, the family is just shocked!!! A scourge, in a word, everything is old, rusty, sofas are falling apart, curtains are torn and dirty. I won't write about the rest. The breakfasts are standard and delicious at home. Restaurant "Ark", on the shore, the menu is varied and delicious. Plus the boarding house, the location and the beach are not crowded, and even then, with paid sun beds. The territory is not fully equipped, littered with junk, scrap metal. Animals are sitting in cages, it's a pity. Only peacocks walk freely. In general, you need to choose a place in advance, and thoroughly, especially when you are traveling with your family.

A husband and wife work in the dining room. They don't try to cook, but they don't raise prices either) when my friend pointed to the dried salad, the hostess screamed obscenities and.... I started eating it myself. She screamed hard - where's the knock? If you don't want to, don't eat. But.... I didn't return the money) probably, I just went to the toilet with them) sorry) it's just that my friend was at an advanced age) the beach. They have one there, but apparently a sooooo valuable employee. He takes money for deck chairs, but the umbrellas are full of holes, as well as deck chairs. But this is all the tsimus of Abkhazia. This is serviiiiis . I ordered shrimp soup at the restaurant. They brought mashed vegetable soup, put one on top! Shrimp) and they also had the nerve to ask how do you like the soup??? Damn, it's great! Territory. Everyone lives on the territory. The guy in the barn, who didn't have a herd at home during the war, which was 30 years ago, the staff, etc. Laundry is drying right there and peacocks are walking. It's a great place! We had a rest from August 26 to September 2, 2024. We lived in houses on the shore for 3 people. On the plus side: Firstly, we arrived early, we were settled right away. The houses are new, fresh., new furniture, bed linen, snow-white towels. The staff is very polite, all requests were fulfilled. The territory is large, green, peacocks are walking. The beach is clean. Prices and food in the dining room are like at home, i.e. the prices are not high, the food is homemade. And for me, the main thing is coffee from Turki (for me it was a great happiness). Everything is delicious in the Ark restaurant, which is located on the territory. Cons: there was no soap in the house. The cleaning lady's answer is not allowed. There was no wardrobe in the house (ordered, not yet arrived). Paid sun beds and umbrellas. Overall, a good boarding house. We will definitely come. And Abkhazia and old Gagra are my separate love and for a long time.

The room has everything you need: air conditioning, TV, etc. Linen and towels are changed every 3 days. The rooms are also cleaned once every 3 days. No cockroaches, bedbugs, and other horrors. Access to the sea directly from the hotel. Yes, sun beds and umbrellas are paid: 150 rubles for the whole day. It's better to get aquashouses. I want to say respect to the staff - the maid in the third building, a nice woman who washes and cleans from morning to evening.
The dining room is clean, conscientious women work, it's delicious, but they serve for a sooo long time, I understand because there are not enough staff.
The reception is also responsive girls, no complaints.
BUT! the room 312 in which we lived is a huge minus to this hotel! The room is damp, so insects fly and it smells like sewage, there has never been a repair! The walls are dirty and stained , the curtains do not know what washing is , the mattress , pillows and blanket cause a feeling of disgust ( , the socket is disassembled , the doors to the bathroom and the room are dirty , creak and hardly open, there is a big hole in the carpet on the floor from time to time , the coating itself is sooo dirty. The payment for accommodation is not small, when asked to convert to another room, the answer was that there were no available rooms, if possible, arrange it yourself((((.

We had a rest in this complex in June 2024. A very old complex, the architecture of the 50s of the twentieth century. Inside, the atmosphere of the late 80s, early 90s. Kovrolin remembers L. I. Brezhnev himself in the rooms. The furniture is tired and needs to be replaced for a long time. Well, where without bedbugs, these insects are available with prosperity. I can recommend this complex to fans of time travel. Back to the USSR.There is a dining room in the complex where you can eat delicious and inexpensive homemade food. Payment in cash or by transfer. Another of the few advantages is the first coastline. Attentive receptionist girls. And the trick, of course, is the peacocks, which are everywhere... In order not to be unfounded, I attach a photo. Gagripsh is a solid three for the hotel. This is my third time in Abkhazia. Therefore, I was not afraid of the dirt in the room and the hotel grounds, nor the almost lack of service. But the rudeness and arrogance of the Abkhazians this time outraged. At first, the transfer driver behaved as if he were the king and god of his car. Then there was a conflict with the hotel manager because of our meeting with the Pegasus guide. It turns out that they should not hold meetings on the hotel grounds, and the manager swore at him and kicked him out in front of us. I considered this behavior unacceptable and spoke about the "cleanliness" in our room (dust and spider webs in the bathroom) and a poorly flushing toilet. Immediately, the maid carried out a " general cleaning " and even repaired the toilet.
But by the evening, my phone stopped picking up the local wifi. It catches everyone else. Then the connection returned, but the Wi-Fi did not finish off in the room, only on the street. The fact remains. Abkhazian hospitality in Gagripsha leaves much to be desired.
The dining room was edible (the usual dining room food.) Fresh.
Porridge 100 rubles . Cheesecake 80. Compote 50. Greenfield tea in bags of 50 Portions are small. It was still a bit expensive In the restaurant, but the level of food was not bad.
The area behind the hotel is cluttered. Among the advantages: there is a bus stop nearby (to go to novaya Gagra), 2 stalls and a small market. But most importantly, there is an almost deserted beach 10 meters from the room.

After a week of staying, they asked to replace at least the towels, but we were told that they were not there, so it was impossible to replace them. Plus, there is only one-a half-empty beach right under the window. If you are checked into room 323, refuse even at the reception, it is terrible! To go to the balcony or to the refrigerator, you will have to wipe the wall, since the distance to the bed is all 30 cm. The shower curtain is covered in mold. We get toilet paper ourselves, we mostly take out the garbage ourselves. I wouldn't come here again for anything!!!

We had a rest in May 2023. I liked the hotel. We lived in an old building overlooking the sea. The furniture is good , the plumbing is clean . cleaning in 8 days 2 times on request. Towels were changed 3 times. There were no negative moments. There are 2 grocery stores near the hotel. The dining room has affordable, delicious freshly prepared food. The cafe is also delicious and affordable at the price tag. For 3* it is quite impressive. Clean territory .We'll come again. I recommend.

I had a rest for 8 nights in June 2023. 3 building 323 room. For those who are vain and squeamish, it is better not to go here) Old stuff, sovdep, it smells bad. And no amount of cleaning will save it all. Only capital repairs. Throw away all that battered furniture and smelly blankets. The remote controls are air conditioning and a TV without batteries. Somehow, one light bulb in the room is on. The windows overlooked the sea and the backyard. The backyard is all cluttered up, opposite the hotel is unfinished.
Pros: the sea is 1 minute away. The territory is beautiful, there are many exotic plants. A petting zoo. And yes, peacocks are walking and even fly onto the balcony. There is an arch, a park and other beautiful places nearby. The receptionists were friendly, the cleaning lady was also friendly. There are three small shops nearby that have everything you need. There was water all the time.
Cons: sunbeds are rented to their own for money. Peacocks scream - it's hard to sleep, you'll forget about their beauty. The whole area is cluttered, which is just not there - piles of metal, old windows, plastic, etc. And moreover, I read reviews for 2017 - as it lay there, it all lies there. During the whole period that I was vacationing there, garbage was being fired under our windows, including plastic. The stench in the room. Dining room - people will come in and ask to wash their hands, they will open some kind of room, then they ask for a towel. There is no toilet. The food is 100% Soviet canteen. The prices, in my opinion, are not small in it.
In the main hall, where the reception is, the headset is torn. It seems to me that this shoddy headset is the face of the owner of this institution.
In general, the location is excellent, but cleaning, repairs are required everywhere and a more respectful attitude towards residents is from the management, not from the maintenance staff.

It's just tin, then you can't wash in the morning, then you can't take a shower from the beach, then one is icy, then there is no water at all, and everything was in the neighboring hotels, there are generators and there is water in stock, for those who go, be prepared!
The dining room is something good, it's better not to take something, the restaurant is more decent. The price for the rooms is too high, considering that without meals, flights, transfers, only one stay, there are the same in other boarding houses, but with 3 meals a day, but there were no places there already in April for the whole summer, they took this one, in principle, more or less, would have made repairs, it would be great. Next to the chic Amra hotel, we went there for the treatment of charcot showers, baths, mud, ozone drippers and massage. The beach is clean, but sun beds and umbrellas are paid, it is expensive to take several people every day. Peacocks scream very loudly around the clock, a black cat runs into the rooms, it gets tired of getting out from under the beds, and the kitten is poor, the children torment him.
