Gagra Railway Station needs restoration, which will begin soon. The excellent ensemble of Soviet-era buildings against the picturesque background of the mountains evokes fond memories for many. There are very few electric trains on the railway to quickly and comfortably get to other settlements, as well as passenger trains from Russia and back several times a day, as well as a Swallow from Sochi.
It 's a good station , it 's clear that the station used to be big and beautiful !The warmth of friendly Abkhazia still emanates from the destroying building!I can't write anything bad, I really love Abkhazia, but of course I would like a cleaner toilet and that they finally began to reconstruct the building! And so the people are very hospitable, there are a couple of shops at the station, the housewives are very friendly, shared Wi-Fi and treated the locals to delicious treats !
They were led by the reviews, and when they were sent back to Sochi, they decided to leave the central station. Externally, the structure looks very pretty and majestic, if you do not take into account the fact that all the entrances and exits are littered with debris and covered with film.
From the side of the railway tracks there is an entrance to the waiting room, where you can feel like a cave troll. It is a large room with benches in the far part of the hall, the rest of the space is occupied by dust and semi-darkness. There is a Wi-Fi and a TV. Occasionally, the station chief comes out to smoke and fill the hall with tobacco aromas from the ashtray.
There is a small shop at the end of the building, with a very meager assortment and fairly low prices.
There are dogs roaming all over the territory. As soon as they notice your food, their population in the area will start to grow. However, do not worry, they are quite peaceful, but it is simply impossible not to give them food looking into their sad eyes 😢
In general, in the absence of anything else, it would probably be possible to give 5 stars. However, let's be realistic, the place reeks of hopelessness and depression, so there's only one star...
