August 2024. We ended up at this hotel on a ticket from Biblio-Globus, upon arrival we were not met, then a local guy who, as a handyman, did not know what our number was, called the manager several times. The room was given with a view of the parking lot and the generator, it was noisy when it was working in the room. The generator turned out to be for a reason, the lights were often turned off in the city at that time. The room is quite well maintained, but on the first day we saw a cockroach behind the wardrobe, plus the slats fell out by the bed that you could fall through, because of this we slept on one half of the bed, we were not large, we fit)).
The pool is clean, we had a good time near it in bad weather. There is a cafe-canteen on site, they cook well, but the staff in every possible way evade payment by card, they only accept cash. I couldn't eat every day because the canteen has been open since half past eight in the morning, it's already late for us, we didn't wait to go on excursions. It is very convenient that three meters from the hotel there is a small shop with everything you need, the prices are low and there is a cashless payment. The sea is not close and you need to walk to it along the road without a sidewalk, but the locals said that this is rather a plus of this hotel, because at the end of August the fishing season begins and there will be a strong smell of fish near the sea. The hotel is located far from the city, there is nowhere to walk, if you get there by public transport, then expect from 40 minutes or more in any direction. The city of Sukhum itself is not a tourist destination, there are several cafes and a beach on the embankment, but swimming is not allowed, because it is dirty, sewage drains from the city into the sea and there is a characteristic smell. One of the advantages is that there are significantly fewer tourists than in Pitsunda and Gagra, and the locals are very friendly, even returning at a later time, in the dark (there is almost no street lighting in this part of the city), it is quite safe.
