When visiting the ruins of ancient cities, I always have a feeling of reverence for the ancient architects. Even now, when computers come to our aid, many of the decisions of our distant ancestors seem unusually fresh. For example, solving the problem with the water supply of a large city, which is also located at a high altitude, would still be a difficult task, and the ancient city planners found an ingenious solution. And the theater, located on the edge of a cliff and very harmoniously integrated into the relief? At the same time, the acoustics were so skillfully calculated that even now, sitting almost at the very top of the dilapidated amphitheater, you can hear the conversation of the people below. And the filigree treatment of tombs cut down in the surrounding rocks? I think that people interested in antiquities should definitely visit Termessos.

Despite the difficult and long journey for a traveler who decides to get there on his own, it's worth it! From the bus station, take a minibus towards Korkuteli, ask to stop at the turn to Termessos, and then 7 km along the road, slowly but surely climbing the mountain (do not even think about taking a shortcut along the path, otherwise you will have to make your way through dense thorny thickets like us). The amphitheater, the necropolis, as if in a city of monkeys from Mowgli, all the ruins are densely overgrown with ivy. I advise you to go back down before sunset, catching a minibus on a dark highway is still a pleasure...

A beautiful place, the amphitheater is well preserved, the ruins are quite badly destroyed and scattered in the overgrown forest. The water tanks are well preserved. The view from the amphitheater is amazing, the ancients were able to choose beautiful places.
