I love Stalin's dachas. I also visited New Athos. I share my impressions:
1. Tour only on the 2nd floor of the already compact cottage. I compare it with the one in Sochi.
2. You can walk along the veranda of the 1st floor on your own.
3. Tour support is superficial, fast, and uninteresting.
4. The cottage is in terrible condition. And it's not just about government money. Some of the original furniture is displayed on the open balcony: rain-wind-sun.
5. But the curious have something to profit from: above Stalin's dacha there is a complex of technical structures — a huge reservoir and a 2-storey house. There was a kitchen and rooms on the ground floor, and Stalin's guards were stationed on the second floor. There is water running from the faucet in the bathroom on the 2nd floor (right wing), please turn it off if you decide to visit. It's not good with natural resources).
6. After that it's convenient to go down to New Athos
7. 600 rubles. for 2 tickets accompanied by a guide.
I recommend.
The resting place of the father of nations cannot be ordinary - I was personally convinced of this! A magnificent place with magnificent sea views and beautiful, clean air soaked with phytoncides of the Pitsunda pine. The interior of the cottage is very decent, but you can't call it luxurious in any way! I was surprised by the small size of the leader's bathroom. The guide explained that it was made to order so that Koba, who did not have a gigantic physique, would not have complexes. There was an opinion that the cottage needs serious restoration.
Stalin's dacha in Novy Athos is a place with a rich history and an interesting atmosphere. The architecture of the building is impressive, and the surrounding nature creates a unique landscape. In general, this place is worth a visit for those who are interested in history and culture.
