We came to Italy to see how Venice lives immersed in water. It is better to get from the airport to the island by boat, because there are no cars in Venice, and it is very far to get from the car and the train station to our apartments. We pre-ordered and paid for a water taxi and local Mario delivered us with a good breeze. You can use the shuttle water "tram" for 15 euros per person, but you need to know exactly which stop to get off at. The nearest one to our apartment is called "S.Silvestro".
The biggest challenge in Venice is getting from point A to point B. This is simply impossible without a navigator. If you do not have a mobile Internet connection, then install the offline navigator on your phone in advance and immediately stock up on the power bank so that the navigator works during the day and the battery in the phone does not run out. You can't get through the narrow and intricate labyrinths of Venice without a navigator.
It's not bad to get an offline translator in advance, sometimes it was impossible for us to communicate without him. And basically all residents of Venice know English.
Contact the owner of the Matteo apartments in advance so that he can send you geolocation, codes from FOUR doors, so that you can safely get to your room for the first time. After that, you find a bunch of four keys for all the doors in the room and you have no access problems.
We had room 3, with two single and one double beds. Bathroom with two sinks, shower and bidet. The room has excellent WiFi, there is a TV with a Smart TV and, accordingly, Youtube.
As a gift, there was a bottle of Prosecco champagne, which was useful to us for celebrating our birthday. The room has everything you need except toothbrushes and toothpaste. There are two pillows and a warm blanket on each bed, and warm bathrobes are available.
Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. Matteo made us scrambled eggs every day. There are a lot of delicious little things for breakfast and throughout the day. Coffee from a smart vending machine can be prepared around the clock. We really liked the latte macchiato – the foam is just super, nowhere in the world has such delicious coffee been drunk!!!
There are three tables in the courtyard under umbrellas for eating, but we preferred to have breakfast in the makeshift dining room, next to the coffee machine and delicious food, and the weather was very rainy and cool for breakfast outside.
Matteo is very friendly and a great guy. We talked to him a lot in English and through a translator. Matteo gave a lot of good advice and recommendations. He helped us a few more times in difficult situations. He also provided great help when leaving the apartment and boarding a boat for a trip to the airport. Thanks a lot, Matteo. Now I will recommend his apartments to everyone, as the location is the best – close to all attractions, three minutes to the pier of scheduled boats, 12 minutes to the bus station and train station.
