I would like to express my deep gratitude to the tour guide Valeria Vyacheslavovna for an amazing tour of the Brest Fortress Museum! She not only knows the material perfectly, but also knows how to captivate listeners with her stories. Valeria Vyacheslavovna shared interesting facts and stories that made our tour unforgettable. Her professionalism and love of history were evident in every word. We got a lot of emotions and new knowledge. We recommend that anyone who wants to better understand the history of the Brest Fortress contact Valeria Vyacheslavovna! Thank you very much!
The Brest fortress left an indelible impression. I've always wanted to visit there and get to know this legendary place better. The majestic monument to the defenders is stunning in its size. Schoolchildren keep a memory watch at the foot. Another monument embodies a soldier who, under bullets, draws water from a puddle with a helmet to bring it to his comrades. Museum staff constantly pour water into his helmet, and it serves as a kind of basin for flowers brought by people.
The guide will take you to different places of the fortress and tell you how selflessly the military unit that was here defended the fortress and about the heroes standing to the death in the face of the enemy horde.
There is an Orthodox church on the territory of the fortress, where you can go to pray and light a candle.
It took me two days to thoroughly inspect the fortress and fortified areas, where there is something to see.
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is a memory that cannot be forgotten
The museum's exposition tells in detail about the heroic defense of the fortress in the early days of the Great Patriotic War. Each room is filled with artifacts, documents and photographs that allow you to feel the horror and courage of the defenders.
Special attention should be paid to audiovisual installations and dioramas that create a presence effect. The exposition dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers who defended the fortress to the last is especially impressive.
The museum staff is friendly and competent, ready to answer any questions from visitors. The guides conduct fascinating excursions, making the visit even more informative and emotional.
The museum is an important monument of history and culture, which helps to preserve the memory of the great feat of our ancestors. I recommend that anyone interested in history visit this place and honor the memory of the heroes.
I visited the Brest Fortress Defense Museum and was deeply impressed. This place allows you to truly experience the atmosphere of those terrible events and understand the price our ancestors paid for freedom. The exhibition is very informative and emotional, with many artifacts and documents. I would like to mention the work of the guides separately — they tell us about the events in a fascinating and accessible way, which helps to better understand and feel the story. The museum is also beautifully decorated and has a convenient location. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of the Great Patriotic War. This place will not leave anyone indifferent.
We were a group on an individual excursion to the Brest fortress. We were very pleased with the work of the guide, junior researcher Vyacheslav! I conducted the tour very interestingly, mentally, in detail, slowly, and were very satisfied! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
What can I say for those who are interested in the history of the Second World War and in particular the Second World War, the place is a must-visit. A living monument to those events, monumental and breathtaking. I also liked the guided tour, there was a brief history of the fortress before the war and the main block directly based on the events of 41 years. You can also take an audio guide if you can't get a guide, which is also convenient and gives context to each exhibit in the museum in order to fully experience the events. This is not a fun place, a place of sorrow and memory, and I am glad that I visited it as an adult. It is also convenient that the fortress is located within the city and it is not difficult to get there without a car.
A must-visit place. Memorial, Temple, Eternal Flame, three museums. Beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, there is a problem with public catering: one restaurant "Citadel", in which one part of the square is under renovation, and the other is given over to banquets (in the most suitable place). Hot drinks and meals can be enjoyed at the bar. The prices are above average, which cannot be said about the quality.
A wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the Brest Fortress from its foundation to the present day.
Of course, most of the exposition is devoted to the heroic defense of the fortress during the Great Patriotic War.
Many thanks to the museum staff and guides for a wonderful story and a detailed tour of both the museum itself and the fortress territory!
Good day.I've been wanting to visit the fortress for a long time! And here we are.I was in awe, just at the thought of being here. The place is iconic, but.....everything is very smoothed out, something. The main entrance has very little information on the way to the symbols of the fortress. There are no informative billboards. The pointers are so uninformative that you have to look for everything. The font on them is mm10. Very small. It is more of a landscape park than a place of heroic defense.Everything is somehow not heroic. There is no tear .Yes, monstrous traces of bombing and shelling are visible. There are ruins all around, but there is no information about what kind of ruins they are and who their heroes are.The inscription of the barracks of such a regiment or club, etc. and all in small print on the general scheme.Go find her. There are a lot of tourists. There is parking inside the fortress.Check-in from the North entrance. There is a good cafe.Come and make your observations and conclusions. Thanks
An iconic place, I really liked it. The huge territory of the Exhibition complex, we were with a child of 5 years old, we didn't even go around everything. Everything is very clean, well-groomed, lots of greenery. The entrance to the complex itself is free, you can get to paid exhibitions on the territory of the fortress, you can book an excursion. There are free toilets, you can buy water and ice cream (you can pay with a card). We visited the Berestye Archaeological Museum. I also liked it very much, it is very clear and not boring, the entrance is paid, you can pay with a MIR card. I recommend visiting the Exhibition Complex, an unforgettable experience. From the railway station you can walk, 30-40 minutes.
When traveling to Belarus, we planned Brest without fail. The Brest Fortress is an open-air monument to the courage, perseverance, indomitableness, willpower and will to live of a Soviet soldier. The square is huge, the monuments are huge, but that is why they are perceived as being near you anywhere in the Brest fortress. The melody of the Holy War song plays at the entrance, followed by a message about the German attack on the USSR. Passing under the arch in the form of Red Army stars to this music, the blood runs cold in the veins. The Thirst monument, which depicts a crawling soldier with a helmet for water, does not leave anyone indifferent. The monument of Courage with a stern image of a soldier gives the answer to the question "how did we win", "No matter what".
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum has a rich and interesting exposition, you can stand near each showcase and exhibit for a long time, they have a deep and painful history behind them. The tour is interesting, the museum is modern. I recommend.
The place is very important for self-determination and gratitude to the feat of previous generations.
Definitely 10 out of 5.
A place of power. The place of such a story.
The atmosphere is creepy.
Be sure to visit the museum.
Very well maintained area. Everything is perfectly simple. The employees are friendly.
I want to go back there again.....
Part of the story with its own atmosphere. From the very entrance, it sets you up for "immersion" in history and allows you to feel with your soul all the hardships that fell on the defenders of the fortress. Thanks to the wonderful guide Valeria Vyacheslavovna, it was possible to learn the main periods of the heroic defense of the Fortress in a short period of the tour. At the end of the tour, under the great impression of what we heard and saw, we walked around the fortress and its surroundings for almost 5 more hours. In my opinion, this is one of the places that everyone just NEEDS to visit.
It's a touching place that brings both pride and tears. I definitely recommend taking guided tours. My group was lucky, we had a young man (a junior researcher), unfortunately, I did not remember his name. Other groups were walking nearby, and their female guides were talking a lot. Our guide told us about the Brest Fortress in a very interesting and accessible way, the case when, after a long story, literally everything fit into my head and I remembered and wanted to listen to more, but it was this young man.
On October 13, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., as part of the tour group of the Ya TO company, we visited the Brest Fortress Defense Museum and the territory. The tour was conducted by the guide Kirill, I did not remember the last name. We all really liked the museum and the complex as a whole, but I would like to note the work of the guide separately. Well done! Kirill conducted this tour with knowledge of the material, clearly, clearly, sincerely, with great patriotism and love. Thanks!
I liked the museum very much, living history, very majestic, useful and informative for everyone, especially for the younger generation, the defense museum ordered an excursion in the museum itself and around the territory, the tour costs 86 Belarusian rubles, if a decent company is recruited, then it is divided into all and it turns out not very expensive)
I have been here for the third time in the last 25 years, a very clean and proud place, beautiful museums, courteous staff, you can get around Brest quickly and easily. Wonderful atmosphere!
a good location for tourists. There are many historical facts on display, photographs, weapons, and a documentary chronicle.
Guided tours are available.
It is interesting to walk around the fortress.
Since childhood, I have dreamed of visiting here. This year we managed to get out of Belarus.
Be sure to take an excursion both to the museum and to the territory. With a guide, if you're lucky. Ours was young and talked on the machine. The information was provided formally, there was no emotional highlight. There are no complaints about the information itself, the main points have been announced.
The complex is huge, you can walk and explore all day. The territory is well maintained.
Living history. It's good that such places are supported.
We were satisfied with everything.
A tour with tears in my eyes. Our people are the best! Fight so fiercely against the fascists! A must-visit. That's where patriotism is nurtured! The tour is interesting, the museum is modern and interactive. You can't get around everything in a whole day! The Citadel restaurant offers excellent desserts.
A place with a huge history, being there touches to the very goosebumps
Very clean and large territory, monuments that give you a feeling
Unfortunately, there are not enough pointers and some kind of information (for example, QR codes) to read in more detail about the places on the territory
We also ordered an excursion for 43 Belarusian rubles for 3 visitors: it is clear that it was put on stream and there was very little information, we passed only a small part of the museum complex with a guide, gave very little information
Delight, awe and inner awe, everyone needs to come here, just stand, feel, there are no words, an amazing place! The memory cannot be erased, I will definitely bring my son, I want him to know, to feel the atmosphere. It seems to me that after visiting the fortress, there will never be any doubt about the greatness of our people (I believe that Belarusians and Russians are still one people) and the correct orientation in history, which cannot be rewritten!
There are no words, only the excitement of the soul about the memory of the feat of our grandfathers. Amazing museums with exhibitions. It is necessary that all children visit places of military glory from a young age and grow up to be true patriots of their Homeland.
Despite the fact that we paid for an individual tour, we could not find out anything, because the guide chattered like a machine gun.The level of excursion service is weak for such a place. I ran, ran through the museum superficially, and in general 5 minutes on the territory.
All my life I dreamed of getting to the Brest Fortress, since childhood I read a lot of literature on this topic, by the age of 45 I finally got to Brest, and that's such a disappointment.
Guys, send your exchange specialists to Tula, Moscow, Volgograd, Sevastopol, St. Petersburg more often so that they have an idea how to work and present the material, because what we saw was a dull, parochial, amateur hat.
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is an amazing place that immerses us in the atmosphere of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War! Visiting the museum leaves an unforgettable impression and allows you to understand the historical significance of the events that took place in this place.
The museum's expositions are informative and well thought out. Visitors can see original objects from the war, photographs, documents and much more, which helps to feel the atmosphere of those difficult times. The exhibits tell about the heroism and steadfastness of the defenders of the fortress, about their feat and sacrifices.
In addition, the museum staff is always ready to help and answer any questions that arise, which creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is not only a place of memory and respect for those who gave their lives for their Homeland, but also an important source of knowledge about the history of the Great Patriotic War.
I recommend visiting the Brest Fortress Defense Museum to everyone, without fail!
The museum is, of course, very massive and impressive. I mean, the central monument is probably 20 meters high. But it's time for us to erect a new monument. And not in connection with the events in Ukraine, but in connection with the climate. Look at the heat in the summer of 2024. How many storms have passed. We need a monolithic society determined to urgently and REALISTICALLY solve the climate problem before it solves us. Because according to the forecasts of scientists who are looking for the REAL causes of changes in the environment, in 2031 you and I will forget about such a life as we knew it in 2024. There will be a severe shortage of everything at this time. The economy in the country and the world may completely collapse. By that time, some countries will cease to exist as States. And not in Africa, but in Europe and Asia. Therefore, an active active position of every person who REALLY worries about his future and his loved ones is already needed. We need simple actions for 5-10 minutes a day on the Internet to try to change the situation in the world. On the request "climate needs to be solved", you will find groups in social networks that have additional information and specific suggestions on what can help in the current situation.
I advise those who have not been here to visit. This is a real place of courage for the Soviet people. This is not to say that the Best Fortress is of huge size. At the same time, one can simply wonder how the garrison held the Nazis in such a square for a whole month! It's very useful to get on a field trip. In a couple of hours you will be presented with the full history of the Fortress. I honestly want to say that my wife and I really enjoyed it. It needs to be seen!
The Brest fortress has always been and will always attract people, you can see and visit museums in the Fortress, you can go with a guide, but you can also walk with your family with children or walk alone, everywhere you go, everywhere is calm
There is a cafe and a restaurant on site.
I think there is no need to write a lot! The place is definitely for visiting, preferably with children and an excursion! The guide told the truth very quickly, apparently they were adjusting the following excursions, it's hard for children to take in so much information at such a pace! We wanted to take an individual one, but we had to order in advance, it's a pity we missed this moment...
The museum is mandatory for all age groups and social strata.
Before visiting, it is better to read something on the Internet about the history of this place and especially the events of June 20-30, 1941.
For example, the wellcom Belarus website is ideal (I read it)
My acquaintance with this place began with reading a book about the defense of the Brest fortress written by Sergey Smirnov. I read this book somewhere between 1975 and 1980.
You need to look at everything: museum exhibits, portraits and paintings, samples of equipment and forms, structures and elements of fortifications barely discernible in some places.
During the examination, keep in mind previously studied facts and supplement them with new knowledge.
A magnificent museum in place without the exemplary feat of Soviet soldiers and officers who taught us a lesson of selfless love for the motherland and pride in our beloved country.
I will definitely bring
my grandchildren. P.S. I propose to supplement the exposition with an interactive map of military operations by day. Indicating the centers of resistance, dates and surnames of the participants.
The museum is impressive. Good parking, navigation. Good exposures. Prices are reasonable, 10 adults and about 5 children. But it's in each one separately. You can eat on site, toilets are not in all departments.
Well, every person born in the former USSR must visit this place.
When they talk about courage, they remember Brest, when they talk about trials, they remember Brest, when they talk about the lives given for our land, they remember Brest. This is a common beginning of the war for us, a symbol of this tragic and heroic beginning. And when we say "Brest", we are thinking not only about the defenders of Brest, we are thinking in general about how we stood up, how we stopped the enemy, how we destroyed his plans, how the Germans did not reach Moscow in 6 weeks, how the blitzkrieg collapsed, how they lost the war.
A very good and interesting museum, and in general the entire territory of the fortress. The whole area is well maintained. The atmosphere cannot be expressed in words, it is necessary to visit.
We really liked it, you can stay there at least all day, a huge territory, everyone will definitely find something of their own. I was very impressed by the monument of Courage. And the cathedral is amazing. Be sure to visit, you will not regret it
I don't even know how to rate this place. For the government that grew up in the USSR, this place is a landmark. And so in July 2024, we got to it. We ordered an individual tour of the fortress defense museum. It must have been hard to feel the fate of these people without her. And I understand that it is difficult to create a museum, because in fact there is almost nothing left for exhibits. The main thing is the events that unfolded there and the courage and steadfastness of the defenders. To see with your own eyes what was once in the history textbooks at school. It was worth it. Come and take a walk. But it seems to me that we need to prepare ourselves a little for visiting such places, especially if we are with children. We also had an audio guide on our phone, well, I added something from what I read. Thank you for your attention, good luck to everyone!
There is something to think about.
A place of strength and courage.
Thanks for saving the story.
The entrances are convenient. There are many of them. Excursions are plentiful, although the administration said that it is necessary to book in advance during the season. April, May is almost scheduled.
I recommend spending two days on the visit. Hear it first and try to understand it later
The museum is impressive. I really like that military music is playing at the entrance. The whole territory . There is a place to buy a drink and relax. Very interesting excursions. I recommend it to everyone to visit.
A place worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. A very interesting tour was conducted by a guide from the museum. We had a delicious meal in the cafe.
We are recommended to visit. The place is filled with history, pain and grief of the peoples of the USSR. Everything is organized in the best possible way, Belarus is a great country, and Brest is a wonderful city, European, in the good sense of the word.
Those who come to the museum should understand that there will be nothing joyful there. This is a difficult page in our history.
On the tour, it was a little confusing that they talked mostly about victims, not exploits, but I suspect that this corresponded to the historical truth.
A place that EVERYONE MUST visit (if possible)!!! Impressions are always overwhelming, although I have been here more than a dozen times (since childhood). My sons have been lucky enough to visit here many times. Great guided tours and VERY informative expositions. REMEMBER OUR STORY!!!
An impressive place. Well-chosen expositions, many historical events are described. The impression of the museum was slightly spoiled by a sightseeing tour, which was minted to us in 45 minutes with a memorized text without a bit of emotion and interest. This, of course, prompted the fact that after such an "immersion" in those distant historical events, I had to find books on my own, study articles, and, in the end, watch the film of the same name in order to fully understand what was happening in this part of the country at that time.
But I would really like that, even with such a flow of visitors and such a limited time for each group, the guides would still be more imbued with the mission to lead people not only through the corridors of the museum, but also to attach their indifference to the historical and patriotic spirit.
It is a very atmospheric and difficult place, at first, when listening to the text, tears almost welled up at the entrance. Monument Courage and Thirst have their mark on the soul. A must-visit!!!
There are no words! Pain! Pride for our Motherland, our soldiers! Wonderful expositions. Our guide, a young boy, conducted an interesting tour of the entire Brest Fortress. I answered all the questions asked.
The impressions are grandiose. To understand the history, everyone should visit the Brest Fortress, the Monument and, of course, the museum.
Polite staff.
A very interesting exhibition.
What to say. Places of fighting, deaths. It's hard there when you remember the defense of the fortress.
Be sure to take the children and tell them everything. The museum has a defense exhibit.
Everything is well maintained and equipped.

This is the best place in Brest, historical, there are many museums inside the fortress, you can walk both with an audio guide and an excursion. It's very interesting, you need to know your story.
The only disadvantage is the lack of at least some food inside, when you walk for a long time, you want to have a snack, but not where..
An interesting historical place. I recommend checking your schedule before visiting. Some museums have days off on different days. The cancer of the eternal flame changes several times a day
I ordered an individual tour at the museum. The museum is very informative, there are many interesting exhibits. But the young girl guide conducted the tour completely soullessly, like an audio guide. Either she was afraid to stray from the memorized text, or she was in a hurry to get home, but the tour was completely formal and uninteresting. Quickly and vaguely pronounced the memorized text and move on to the next room. Alas, the mood from the museum was very much spoiled
