Transit zone is just awful. We landed at 1:00 am and were waiting for couple of hours for person, who could just stamp us border tickets for following flight
It is clean, on the 1st floor of the airport there is a recreation area near the entrance to the boarding of international lines, with poufs around interesting florariums, a charging station with Chinese connectors, toilets,a post office, a cafe with a European menu, a Family mart, a traditional souvenir shop with pandas, vending machines, an ATM of the Chinese national bank, offices of various Chinese airlines, the sides of the boarding gate of local airlines are also oval-round poufs and some kind of incomprehensible relaxation area, where 3.5 chairs stand along the wall and an employee sits for some reason. On the 1st floor there is a Starbucks, as well as another one opposite the airport exit, an exchange office, toilets with sensors on the taps and barely running water, so it takes a very long time to wash your hands. On the 2nd floor there is a food court with many Chinese cafes. There is also free Wi-Fi, free hot and cold water in the coolers, and paper cups so that you don't carry them around the airport and throw them anywhere.
The area after customs is full of branded shops, cafes, all according to the standard. There are business lounges, which, as usual, are packed, this is China)))There is an exchanger, if you suddenly forgot to buy something for cash and decided at the last moment - you need to take it.The course, of course, is not interesting.I found a souvenir shop late, which is on the left, after the lounges, and there are a lot of cute Chinese-style knickknacks, my eyes were already resting.
The airport is cozy, but there is no feeling of modern Beijing
The airport is very clean, cozy, beautiful, everything is conveniently located, everything is clear, and most importantly, the airport staff will always tell you how and where to go, or you can tell the robot assistant what you need, it's on wheels, and it will show you everything, even where your exit is.
Attention - the review is written about Terminal 2 PEK. I haven't been to any other terminals. I flew in November 2024.
+
1) There is an exchanger where
they even take rubles.
2) It is spacious and there are few people.
3) Several very large toilets.
4) There are sockets of both Chinese and our type (I found them only in one place)
-
1) Very meticulous inspection, they look at everything as closely as possible, all electronics are run several times on the scanner.
2) It is impossible to change currency or buy anything at night. Nothing is working.
3) Nowhere to sleep. There is no capsule hotel. The armrests of the seats are not removed. People sleep on the floor or on cold window sills.
4) In the terminal there is a modest little house, one and a half cafes (one where you can eat and one where they only pour), one exchanger, a souvenir and nothing more.
4) Only yuan is accepted everywhere.
5) There is no McDuck, no KFC, only a local expensive cafe with strange but delicious food.
Overall, it's a good airport. Clear navigation, everything is clean. There is a Family mart store on site with normal prices and the ability to pay with a card. There is an exchanger. The main advantage is a convenient railway express to Beijing, fast and inexpensive.
It's a big airport, I flew through Beijing, had a long transfer, had a very comfortable time between flights, there are restaurants and fast food, there are vending machines, the prices are quite adequate, I have already flown through this airport several times, I am very satisfied
A great airport with a small number of people. Everything is strict) There is no smoking area, which is great for non-smokers😊
The lounge area is stuffy, and rooms with a fan may be occupied.
There is a place to eat at reasonable prices, the Union Pay card works.
A large, multi-level, modern airport. At first it seems like some kind of maze, but not for long, it's cool enough inside. There is Wi-Fi, many interesting boutiques, the prices are all biting))
Sooooo big. Trailers run between the exits, within the same (!) terminal))) therefore, keep this in mind, spend considerable time searching for your exit. You can leave the airport in all available ways: taxi, metro bus. A shuttle bus runs between two major airports in Beijing Capital and Daxing, makes 4 stops around the city, travel time is 2 hours, the cost is 55 rubles. There are cafes, shops, in general everything is clear, convenient and clean, despite the fact that the airport is far from new.
A large airport, with its own characteristics. For example, during transit, you have to stand in a huge queue to put some kind of stamp in the boarding gate.
Very strict screening when boarding the plane. Special attention is paid to power banks, if there is doubt about the power, they are taken somewhere and if the check passes, they are returned to the gate for boarding. But again, you need to ask about it, because no one will warn you. The airport staff speaks English poorly, and there is no normal Internet in China. In short, there are a lot of purely Chinese features.
A very large airport, cafes with adequate prices, there are coolers with free water, many waiting chairs, clear signs, there are places to charge gadgets. I was impressed. ⭐
Technically equipped well, it is traditionally cool in it and of course there are absolutely no conditions for a long rest. The business halls are weak, everything is just sitting... what is called a transit hotel on the territory of the third terminal is a small flophouse at the level of a cheap hostel ... where it is unrealistic to get to. The absence of traditional Chinese goods in the terminal's stores seemed strange.. only standard duty-free goods.... A strange assortment.. lack of food ... in the terminal there are a couple of very truncated versions of starbucks, KFC with an assortment of a couple of dishes already from the opening (they did not end in the evening, but they opened before lunch, at least that's how they worked) and the Chinese version of Pizza Hut, well, there is already a bigger assortment.Although it also cannot be compared with what is in the city ... all this is not comparable with neighboring countries, for example, with BKK
The airport is large, bright, spacious, but practically empty. There's only one thing for the whole Internacional!!! a small and nondescript information board in the middle of a huge and long terminal!
It's a big airport, you can get lost, but it's better to ask people which way to go, many employees know English. When you get on the transfer at the station, just in case, show the ticket to the person who works at the airport, they will tell you where and what. There is a long distance between the terminals.
The airport is compact and convenient. But the problem is how to move to Daxing Airport - there are 3 buses a day, it takes almost 2 hours to drive. By metro and train with transfers.
A huge airport. Very modern. There are many shops, but it is difficult to buy souvenirs, since most of them are boutiques of very expensive brands. The staff is polite and highly professional. Everything is done quickly. The impression of the airport remained very good.
Plenty of space in the waiting room. If you go to the rightmost edge of the waiting room from the fountain, there are massage chairs in which you can just have a wonderful sleep.
The review concerns 2 terminals. Despite the large number of people, all the formalities are carried out quickly and clearly. There are small carts for wearables in the sterile area, which is very convenient. There are few duty-free shops and they are very weak. There is only one cafe. The souvenir shop sells noodles, and there is a hot water dispenser near the toilets. There are very few charging points, and you have to manage to sit next to them, which is not always possible. In general, it is a purely utilitarian terminal with a minimum of infrastructure.
Oh, this Beijing airport... Huge, deserted, clueless, with a bunch of staff who don't understand anything in any language at all. There is a Starbucks, a KFS and some kind of pizzeria. Everything). There are several devices with boiling water and cold water. Duty Free in Beijing is a separate song and quite sad. In general, there is nothing to do there! at all.
In principle, it's not a bad airport, it's impossible to get lost, everything is very clear. The only disadvantage is if you expect a flight for several hours, especially at night, the armrests do not rise on the seat, and you want to lie down... There are not enough beds
There is absolutely nothing to do in Terminal 2 in the departure area of international flights. Duty free is very small, you can't take a nap in business halls - uncomfortable chairs, the food is tasteless. If it's a long transfer, it's better to try to apply for a temporary visa and travel to the city.
Despite the fact that the language here is Chinese, the infographics are very transparent, the crossings between the terminals are clear, and the announcements on the train are in English.
The passport control is murderous! Is that how we got here, or in fact the number of windows should be increased tenfold.
A beautiful , huge airplane. But dutifrey is very limited, there are very few shops, and the distances between the boarding gates are huge. Everywhere there are coolers with cool and hot water, places to charge the phones, smoking rooms
There are problems with comfort - we spent almost a day in the waiting area during transit, there are very few seats for comfortable waiting for flight check-in. Navigation is quite accessible for poor English. There is practically no free WiFi, if it gets through to the airport, then it's unpleasant to find out that most services are blocked. In the boarding area, almost all duty free shops were closed. And the terminals themselves are striking in size and emptiness. The mess with the border and customs authorities is complete, it is often required to issue documents like a health declaration on the Chinese website before the flight, which is then not recognized by the scanner. The procedure for passing the border is too formalized, the staff practically does not speak English, even at a minimum.
Excellent, in other respects, as in other airports in China. It's a little difficult without an interpreter if you don't know English well. Prices for all food and alcohol are the same as in the city.
Beer bought inside can be drunk anywhere.
A huge, clean, beautiful airport!
There is water, both boiling and cold. If you have a thermos with you, you can brew tea, which can be purchased in shops at a normal price, their tea is very tasty!
Probably the only airport in China where smoking is prohibited and there are no smoking rooms there.
It's a very nice airport. But we must remember, in the case of transfers to domestic flights, that another term is not close and the signs are not easy.
A large well-organized airport, but there is trouble with passport control, too few employees because of this, people are late for connecting flights and they are postponed.
It's a great huge airport, I think it's about five of our Vnukovo. By the way, unlike our airports, food prices are reasonable and water costs 60 rubles, not like ours. I just really don't understand why it's impossible to do the same at our airports.
A convenient airport. No problems with orientation. There are vending machines with free water, as in all airports in China where I have been.
But we must remember that the distance between terminals T1 and T2 is decent. I took the subway for about 10 minutes, probably.
There is a very poor waiting area, in my opinion there are not enough shops with national products and souvenirs for an international airport. Cosmetics alone are not serious 🤨
Plus, the building is without heating, in the evening and at night there is a risk of getting sick from cold and drafts.
One plus is the beautiful Chinese-style recreation areas.
The famous international airport. Moving between terminals in unmanned trailers. Minor difficulties are related to the language barrier. Chinese people very rarely understand at least something in English, and the online translator works crookedly. But all standard procedures are fast and without delay, if you follow the established rules.
An interesting airport, you can sleep on chairs, free water and WiFi. The truth does not catch the watts and the cart. You need to take roaming. The staff is polite and professional. Vending machines with drinks and cafes are a separate plus)
I didn't like it at all! There are consultants everywhere, but they are stupid- they don't understand English, they are not competent; you have to call, then wait, then stand in line, and they tell you not to, then queue again, and so on. The first time we docked for 3 hours and we stood at the border control for 2 hours and it was at the international terminal, where there is a huge transit hub. The choice of cafes is scarce and if there are no yuan, this is also a problem, dollars and euros are not accepted in cash, only by card. It's not very convenient!
The airport is just opening after Covid. Of the huge number of dutifrey stores, only one is open! From where you can eat - KFC and Starbucks. But there is a premier lounge where you can relax and refresh yourself properly. The only inconvenience is the Internet Wi-Fi. It is available both in the free version and for lounge customers (a password and login are issued in the vending machine according to the passport). But, if the phone was registered for free access before the lounge, then it is impossible to log in to the fast Internet of the lounge.
A small airport, no smoking rooms, stuffy, high humidity, there are few food outlets, a business hall smaller than a toilet in Russian apartments, I do not recommend it.
The airport is clear and clean.
A good and convenient airport, but with regard to security, of course, it makes you nervous. You put things in your luggage, then you can be pulled out for inspection, where there are a lot of shuttles to open their trunks. At the inspection, you ask what is wrong? I don't know. So they shook out all the luggage that they wanted and did not understand what they did not like.
The staff is not talkative, some frankly do not know English well. There are queues at the inspection, but everything goes quickly. Very clean. There is free drinking water
We flew from Beijing airport to Irkutsk. In general, there are no problems. A convenient airport, quickly checked in and checked out, but there are not enough shops and cafes. Compared to Hong Kong . Well, add light and cosmetic repairs.
A modern airport, huge, the staff will help if necessary if something is not clear. Strict customs control. There are a couple of cafes with non-Chinese food, kfc and others.
