The hotel and its staff are very pleasant. Perfect English, friendly, helpful. The breakfasts are quite extensive. There are always fruits, omelets/fried eggs, baked vegetables, pancakes with nutella. The rooms are small but cozy, but there are disadvantages, especially if the room is on the ground floor, it is better to change (you will be on the minus first floor). But otherwise, it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. Cleaning every day, the safe was not used, nothing is stolen)
The hotel is wonderful for its price and location. There are a few things to consider, if your goal is to walk around the city all day and take a room to relax at night and have breakfast, this is a great option. The rooms are really like in the photo, small, cozy, no frills. They clean and change towels every day, which made me very happy. Turkish-style breakfasts (I personally didn't like much).
The staff is very pleasant, they will always answer any questions and suggestions. We had room 404 (on the 2nd floor, but actually the view is right on the pedestrian zone), it was very cool (considering that we were in March), we were asked to fix the air conditioner, and we were moved to the exact same room, but two floors higher) It was a pleasure)
The hotel was booked in early January 2025, and a double room with breakfast for 4 nights cost 18,000 rubles. The price-quality ratio is excellent!
Gulkhane Tram Stop is located nearby, a 2-minute walk away.
I first found myself in this alley, a dead end that looks like a quiet courtyard, three years ago. The room was booked at the Print House hotel (I'm writing about it separately), but due to a mistake by the tour operator, I wasn't expected there until the next day. A skilled receptionist immediately arranged for me to spend one night at the hotel opposite, and I liked it so much that the next time I ordered it, I did not regret this decision. Basilissis is ideally located: almost all the historical sites of Istanbul are nearby, the beautiful Gulhane Park and the tram stop are nearby. The hotel is small (twenty rooms), all amenities are available, and the rich breakfast exceeds expectations. There is only one thing to note: there is no shelf for shampoo gel in the shower, and you have to hold it all in your hands...
