The Church of St. Charalampius (Bishop of Magnesia) in the Greek city of Krini was built in 1832. Before the exchange of territories in 1922, St. Charalampia Church was the main city church (at that time there were 75 churches and more than 300 chapels in Krini itself and its surroundings). After 1922, the city of Krini became known as Cesme (after the bay located in the area between the western tip of Anatolia and the island of Chios, where the famous Battle of Chesma took place in 1770), and the church was no longer used for its intended purpose.
