It's an amazing place.
It is located at the end of a tourist street, opposite an Ayurvedic pharmacy and a grocery store.
The hotel is divided into 2 wings (100-200 economy rooms, 300-400 suites) We lived in three rooms in one vacation, because there was no hot water in the economy area, and we were put in a suite.
Wi-Fi is available in rooms up to "ten" (110/210/310/410), closer to the lobby.
To make it easier to read the review: 1000 rubles = 350 rubles
The nearest safe beach is ~ 2km away or 400 rupees by tuk-tuk (we rode for 220, there was no more, and in general we can bargain). The Russians call it "Turtle Beach," but the locals don't know that name, it's easier to ask them to drive "to the beach at the Red Lobster."
The prices in the hotel restaurant are high, so we ate at Friends indeed (+10% fee, the food is not spicy), Spoon (not spicy), Red Lobster (not spicy, lobster from 800g to 1750rupi/100g), Rooftop lounge (the best curry set, the owner is a surfer, advertised certified lessons and his hotel Lost in Paradise), Joint (the entrance to the cafe is through the beach of the hotel, adjacent through the fence, the average price tag, and yes, judging by the name, they can roll a joint for 2500 rupees).
Excursions are cheaper at local shops ($30 there versus $ 110 from a tour operator in a large group), we rode together on a tuk-tuk, we bled our feet, we liked it. Everywhere they ask to "donate" and buy products. I do not recommend swimming in the upper bay of the waterfall-there are a lot of leeches, they did not swim below.
Exchangers: jewelers accept all money, but old dollars at the rate of 285 rupees / dollar, new ones-290r/ $. I will attach a photo of a jewelry store where the old $ 20 was exchanged at the rate of 290 rupees / $, some such small amounts are not exchanged at all.
We arrived at night and exchanged at fruit stalls for 280 rubles/$ of any antique, it suited us and we had dinner. There are kilometer-long queues at the exchange offices at the airport.
I don't remember the name of the cafe.. to the right of the pharmacy, if you look at it, they are preparing a seafood shawarma. Crab is ground with chitin, shrimp-with shell.
As I said, the safe beach is not at the hotel. Take a trip once, see the difference in waves. It is better not to swim near the hotel with children.
It was said that there are several shopping malls in Halle and it's cheaper there. It is not true. There is a whole market block, there are no decent shops, and they paid 4,000 rupees from the hotel and back. But! We found "Chinese crocs" there, which was a salvation for a friend, because her slates had frozen her feet. Since you're going, go to Pinky's-it's the only three-story store with cheap little things (mini chocolates of 80 pieces and coconut milk in small containers of 170 pieces).
You can buy a SIM card in a store with yellow propane cylinders (from the hotel to the left on the right side), it costs 450 rupees for 5GB of Internet (for a week) and a SIM card.. I don't remember how many. Take a passport without it, purely based on the passport photo from the phone, they block the SIM card and then it's problematic to apply again so that access is returned.
By the way, one time cockroaches came to us (the first floor of the economy wing) through the "ventilation" in the toilet. They're big, like Madagascar ones-sizzling. The workers laughed at us, but they took them away.
In general, I did not find a hotel with a greater view profile on the whole street. It's very beautiful.

I liked the hotel, it was clean, the pool, delicious food, not expensive beer, the staff was responsive and unobtrusive. There are two supermarkets nearby, a bunch of shops, there are always inexpensive tuk tuks right next to the hotel. The waves are not very big, you can swim if you want. There are almost no people on the beach in July. About a kilometer away from the hotel Hika Trans -turtles and beautiful fish. The view from the room is amazing. I lived on the ground floor and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The rooms are old, but everything worked. I took a room without air conditioning with a fan on the ceiling - it was enough for me. There is no hair dryer, so take it with you. I didn't have a refrigerator, but I heard that if I asked, they would give it to me. Absolutely charming dogs, if you come alone, they will be happy to keep you company)

I really liked the hotel! We took a sea view room and were satisfied. The room was cleaned every day, there was a refrigerator, air conditioning, kettle, no insects bothered. A clean swimming pool, a safe at the reception (free of charge), delicious breakfasts, a good selection, including fruits. The beach is wonderful, clean, the waves are small. Convenient location: near a supermarket with everything you need, a pharmacy and a medical center around the clock, cafes for every taste (from atmospheric beach to sterile Europeanized), a bus stop, souvenir shops. It's not far to Galle, to the museum of masks, nearby you can learn to surf, walk to the beach with turtles and colorful fish.

Good afternoon. I can't put 5 stars for this hotel. The staff there is friendly, attentive, the territory is cleaned regularly, but there are a lot of BUTS. It is impossible to swim in front of the hotel, the constant waves that can easily wash you into the depths of the ocean, the hotel staff will not even save you. There is an undercurrent that, believe me, is stronger than man and our ambitions. We chose this hotel due to the buffet for breakfast. It was, out of all 2 weeks, only 6 days, after 5-6 rooms had moved out, our buffet stopped and we were given a limited menu for breakfast. Sorry, we paid for the buffet! If we had known there would be such a mess, we definitely wouldn't have considered it! The food is normal, for an amateur. There is also a joke, local weddings were regularly held in this hotel in the afternoon or evening, there were mass gatherings, in the morning they moved all the deck chairs into a pile, put up a large arch, and a lot of elegant guests gathered around the pool. I don't mind, but not every other day, how can we relax, sunbathe and walk around in a swimsuit? You also have to think about the tourists who paid the money, it's not very comfortable, you're lying down and the whole party is staring at you and the rest of the tourists. Not comme il faut!

I liked everything!But! The hotel hosts corporate parties, birthdays, and weddings....The music makes everything shake...people are walking, and vacationers don't know where to hide from the decibels. That's how we have fun ((( The heart jumps out (((

There are few umbrellas by the pool, sun beds on the beach on the territory of a nearby hotel or bar, you need to order something from the menu and you can lie all day. The hotel staff is polite and quick to respond to requests. The room was given with a view of a blank wall, plumbing was failing and plaster was falling off the ceiling from dampness. The room is without a TV, telephone, refrigerator and safe. A clean bed, a wardrobe and a table along the wall, two armchairs. Water, tea and coffee were constantly replenished. In 10 days, bed linen was changed 2 or 3 times, towels more often. Breakfast buffet is acceptable.

The hotel is great!!!
Yes, it's not 5 stars, there are shoals, but overall excellent.
The staff is super friendly, ready to solve problems if they arise. The rooms are a little tired. If something is missing or does not work, you just need to ask (and not be dissatisfied later).
We didn't have a refrigerator and blankets, we asked for everything to be brought. The horse did not work - they were relocated. In short, everything is solved. The pool is normal, the sun beds are also a little shabby, but in general, if you don't find fault, they are quite comfortable and beautiful. There was always enough.
The buffet breakfasts are average. But you won't stay hungry. The dinners on the menu are excellent. The portions are small, but beautiful and delicious. In the restaurant, you can simply eat on the menu for "Moscow prices". The menu is quite large. Shrimp is love.
The ocean is wonderful - blue 💙
There were strong waves, but it was possible to swim, on some days away, on some days near the beach, the beach is wide. You can go to another beach for 15 minutes on foot or 5 by tuk tuk. The grocery store is small - on the contrary, there are many delicious cafes and cozy bars nearby, clubs on the beach (mambos and the neighboring one).
No one is poisoned, they have not even heard such stories.
I fell in love with Sri Lanka and this place.

Excellent location, everything is within walking distance. I went out on the street right there was a bus, a tuk-tuk, shops, cafes. The numbers are the same as in all "threes". It is suitable for outdoor activities. The beach is clean, the pool is overlooking the ocean. The breakfast is not bad, the choice is small, but you can have breakfast. Of the disadvantages, there are few sun beds by the pool and from time to time a non-working beach bar. And so, in general, it's very good. The hotel is generally good. They clean every day, the rooms are clean. Of the disadvantages, this is a terrible view of the wall, poor water pressure, but there is always a hot one. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty and the choice is great. Breakfasts are included, and lunches and dinners will be prepared for a fee. The first line. I took a room with an ocean view.. Gorgeous sunsets.. It's like nothing... but there are misunderstandings about breakfast.. That's a buffet..(there is a choice and everything is without complaints) . and by order.. with almost no choice.. only I didn't like it. well, in general, do not wait much.. If you decide to stay at this hotel, take only a sea view room! The difference between it and a regular number is cardinal:
- bed: clean whole sheets vs dirty and leaky
- taps: clean vs with a strong green-red coating
- ceiling: good finish vs peeling plaster
- balcony: opens easily vs opens with great difficulty
- view: to the sea vs to a shabby wall
We initially took the usual one, but as soon as we saw the whole nightmare, we ran to change it to sea view and did not regret a bit. The surcharge was $13 per night. It's worth it!!!
The rest of the advantages:
- warm, clean pool with beautiful ocean and sunset views
- helpful, attentive staff
- secure storage of valuables in a safe at the reception under the camera (free of charge, but if you lose the key, you will be fined $ 50)
- daily cleaning + if you leave a tip, they will put something interesting out of towels
- the room has: refrigerator, air conditioning, hair dryer, bathroom accessories (towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion)
- located in a busy part of the city, there are a lot of restaurants, exchangers and shops nearby
- good Wi-fi throughout the hotel, including in the rooms
Of the disadvantages of the hotel, I can note:
- unstable water supply in the shower (then cold, then hot, then weak pressure)
- there is no phone in the room (if there is a question, you need to go to the reception yourself) and a TV (suddenly someone fundamentally)
- monotonous breakfasts with a small selection of dishes
- high prices at the bar (it will be cheaper in the nearest cafes)
Additionally: wedding ceremonies are sometimes held at this hotel. It doesn't interfere with your rest at all, but it's interesting to see)))

Good afternoon, we had a rest in January 2024. When I saw the pool and the ocean at the entrance to the hotel, the view was impressive. The room was terrible, we bought without a sea view and were ready, but what happened next is not for this. We were accommodated on the 2nd floor above the kitchen, in the morning we can hear how breakfast is being prepared. The most unpleasant thing was at night they woke up from the noise, someone was running on the floor, turned on the light and no one, fell asleep, the noise appeared again. At night, we heard screams from the neighbors, they called the staff, realized that mice were running around. They saw mouse waste behind the cabinet. We were asked to change the room, but there were no empty rooms, they fixed a hole in the shower, but we still woke up at night from the noise. There was a huge cockroach sitting in the closet where the refrigerator stands, looking like a large beetle, perhaps it also woke us up at night.After a few days, we still managed to move to another room, we began to get enough sleep, it was quiet. And now, what did you like.The breakfasts were normal, we didn't stay hungry. There were waves on our beach, but you can swim if you can swim. And you can walk 30 minutes to the turtles there is a closed bay without waves. I liked the nature, lots of greenery, beautiful ocean, delicious local food in the cafe. We were lucky with the weather, there was no rain, but when there are no clouds it is very hot.It gets dark early in the evening and it becomes comfortable for walking. Excursions were bought from the locals 2.5 times cheaper than what is offered at the hotel. The guide and transport are no worse. We took the bus to Galle ourselves, walked around the Fort, the fare was 200 rupees for 2 people. In general, we enjoyed the rest. The country and the people are friendly.

I am delighted with the hotel, I rested for two weeks, the pool is visible from the reception, smoothly turning into the ocean, the beauty is indescribable!!! ! The room is cleaned every three days, but if you need it more often, you can always ask the staff. Polite and helpful staff, especially I would like to mention the hotel manager!!! I took a tour only with breakfast in the hotel itself, they cook perfectly, and the prices are very affordable, compared to the city. But everything was fine there, the average price tag is 2000-3000, but it's just not denying yourself anything))) 15 minutes on foot along the beach, you can visit turtle beach, where there is no wave and a lot of large turtles, you can feed them, the locals sell algae there for about 200 rubles a bag. In general, the hotel is excellent, I recommend it!!! WiFi at the reception and in the pool area. The room has shampoo, foams, towels, air conditioning, hair dryer, well, everything for a comfortable stay. The water in the shower for washing is heated in tanks located on the roofs, so there is no steep boiling water anywhere, the water is at room temperature. A wonderful place, an unforgettable vacation!!!

Gorgeous view from the balcony!
The staff is friendly, always responds to requests, the air conditioner worked properly.
The pool is cleaned every morning, the rooms are fully cleaned every day.
Breakfast is a buffet, there are also local fruits, delicious freshly squeezed juices.
One of the disadvantages is the humidity in the rooms ( close the balcony and turn on the air conditioner so that it is less humid and things can dry out )
Also, unfortunately, there is no electric towel rail, the problem with drying clothes would be solved.

The hotel is VERY tired, well, absolutely. The numbers are dead. If the room is not on the second floor and does not have a view of the pool, you can completely hang yourself. But what are the views and the feeling of the ocean... It's priceless! The hotel relies on cleaning the pool due to the fact that it is there almost every second day of the wedding. The photos there are really cool. There are no breakfasts! But the feeling of the ocean is fabulous and which is not found in the Europeanized hotels of the country.

This is Asia, and that says it all. No need to wait there for some service. They clean the rooms every other day, and then you need to remind them. There are no TVs at all, there is a refrigerator, but it does not work. The bed is falling apart, it rumbles terribly. Cracked, apparently. The raid on the crane is terrible. But they don't go there to sit in a room. Nature, the ocean, people-everything is fine. The staff is very friendly.I would like to go back there.

Horror, from the word HORROR!!! There are no TVs in the whole hotel, the furniture is dead, the towels are dirty. Breakfasts, a separate pain: there is nothing (for Europeans), everything is spicy, juices are packaged, there are no sweets. There are few sun beds by the pool, you have to ask for towels.

we traveled for three days and were not in the room.They asked me to clean up before leaving.They wrote down the room number at the reception, but arrived and found the room in the same condition as three days ago.I had to swear.The breakfasts are delicious, the food is varied, but I didn't like the coffee.Nice pool.The ocean is very active! But with a certain skill (go in and out)))the bathing is excellent, the water is warm.If you like to ride the waves, this is your place.
And the hotel, in my opinion, does not pull for 4.

With the stated 4 stars, they barely pull at 2. During the vacation, the wiring was constantly shortened and there was often no light, I had to ask the staff to fix it. The hair dryer didn't work. The shower was constantly dripping from the ceiling, there was a fungus. There was no TV. Upon check-in, in the absence of available rooms, they tried to "heat up" by 100 units. The breakfasts are good. There are very few sunbeds. The view is good. I would not recommend the hotel.
