Of all the attractions in Bukhara, I liked this complex the most! A rich history, interesting architecture, and in general, just being on this square and looking around is already a delight!
We were in winter, there were few tourists, we walked along a quiet, cozy street. Entrance to the square is free, but in a store or mini museum we were lured to look and then asked for 1000 soums.... Then they tried to bypass this smartass!
One of the best attractions in Bukhara. There is a backlight in the evenings, I recommend watching it. There are many souvenir sellers nearby. The assortment is like everywhere else in Uzbekistan, the prices are lower than in Samarkand.
A very beautiful place! It is best to visit with a guided tour. Incredible architecture, beautiful views, a lot of interesting things. A must-visit! I highly recommend it.
It is beautiful, majestic, monumental. It's amazing how they could do this without modern technology. I recommend visiting, there are a lot of tourists from all over the planet.
Very beautiful! There is something to see. There are many preserved historical buildings in the original. But unfortunately, there is only one trade around, an oriental bazaar among the monuments of antiquity. But it's still unequivocal - it needs to be seen!
Beautiful, magical, unforgettable.A lot of positive emotions. A huge number of locations, there are costume shows. Shopping malls, street artists, puppeteers. At the same time, real weddings are held. Everything is very noisy, colorful, colorful
I was truly delighted with both the hospitable Bukhara and this magnificent ensemble.
I am publishing my travel notes in the telegram channel. The link is in the profile name, and you can also click on the QR code on the avatar.
This place makes an indelible impression! An oriental fairy tale! The ornaments are fascinating, and the night lighting shows the masterpiece in a new way!
The most beautiful place in Bukhara. Day and night, and in any weather - at night after the rain, illuminated buildings are reflected on the wet square.
Everything is clear about the sights, go, watch and enjoy. Basic life hacks.
Upon arrival, we immediately bought a local SIM card, we took Beeline.
It is better to travel by taxi, it is much cheaper here if you call a taxi through Yandex. If you catch them on the road, they will tear three skins. We were taken from the railway station in Bukhara to the hotel in the center for 900 rubles. Although according to Yandex it cost 250. Be careful. This is simply called deception and the locals, despite the constant references to the Koran, are trying to fool you everywhere.
At the hotel, if you want cleaning every day, just say so. Otherwise, you can stay without cleaning.
It is better to eat in places for locals. It's always out of the center. But there are a lot of places, Uzbeks like to go to restaurants. Ask the locals where to go. We have always been advised by excellent restaurants. The prices there are three times cheaper. The portions are large. The service is always separate and mandatory, about 10-20%. therefore, add this margin to the price immediately. There is no need to leave anything on top of the price in the receipt. Payment is often made by check at the checkout at the exit.
Alcohol is a problem here. Only local, the wine is so-so. Prices range from 50t to 130t per bottle of wine. In the tourist area, of course, they will still be thrown on, if everything is without price tags.
Money can be changed everywhere. Just ask at any store (not online of course :)) and they will most likely change it for you. Just specify the course in advance so as not to get caught.
You don't have to take excursions in advance. There are plenty of guides everywhere, besides, you will see the person yourself and bargain. So, in a month, I wrote a request to several guides. I was told the price was $80-100. Upon arrival, there are guides near any landmark, the price is 50 dollars maximum for the same thing. Or a trip to Shakhrisabs in advance cost $ 100 for the whole day. We got to his neighbor through the innkeeper. It turned out to be $ 50, we did not bargain :))
Souvenirs. Don't take anything at the tourist markets. Dried fruits, nuts are only on the market for locals. The dishes are in the same place. We did a funny thing in Samarkand. At the Siab market, they wanted to sell me a kettle for 500t, like giving up 250t. I went a little further to the store in the same market, where the kettle cost 150t, they gave up for 130t. Sugar crystals are sold in a regular store, I took a beautiful box of 400 gr. for 17t. Bathrobes in Bukhara were 600t each, in Samarkand 250t each. It is cheaper, but the fabric is worse.
Attractions. The entrance fee is from 10 to 65 t Registan. But it is necessary to come in. In the end, we were already tired of paying for everything, and when we arrived at the Shahizind mausoleum and again saw 40t for the entrance, and there were four of us, we decided to take advice from the Internet and go through the existing cemetery. But we didn't even go inside, we walked around the entire complex of mausoleums along the edge of the cemetery, everything is perfectly visible, first from the rear, then all the beauty from the end. They also went out through the cemetery, on the other side.
In general, people are very kind and friendly. I don't like only price deceptions, it's not beautiful and only scares me away from shopping. There are a lot of Tajiks, they are not as kind and open as Uzbeks. This is my observation, I do not impose it on anyone. For example, our taxi driver (later it turned out that he was Tajik) said that there were a lot of illegal immigrants here, we asked where they were from? From Tajikistan? He said that you can't say that, that why if you are an illegal immigrant, then immediately a Tajik? Where do such associations come from? In short, I got all upset. But here, I'm sorry, the way he behaves, that's how they perceive you, it's not our fault here.

The most iconic place in Bukhara. A must-visit. A great option for hiking. It's a very "instagrammed" place.
There are many souvenir shops around.
It's very beautiful, there's a backlight in the evening, it's a pity you can't go upstairs.. It's great that the madrasah is being partially restored. We lived a stone's throw from Kalon, walk along the mahalla and here's the center for you!!!
I really liked it - like in an oriental fairy tale. Even the streets around are real, with typical architecture - narrow streets and clay houses. Everything is very clean and beautiful.
I'll just say Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva, Tashkent are wonderful cities with interesting architecture and different histories. All of them were capitals of khanates and centers of trade
This is amazing! The ensemble is located in the center of Bukhara along the walking route from Lyabi House to Ark Fortress. Kalyan Minaret is a place of power! You can admire it for a long time and with pleasure, it is especially good in the dark, the backlight makes it more majestic. For fans of selfies and photos, this location is wonderful from all sides. Entrance to the square is free.
The ensemble consists of a mosque and a madrasah, which are located opposite each other. It is noteworthy that the madrasah (in Uzbek it sounds like madrasah) This is an educational institution of a theological nature, which trains imams and muftis. The Mufti of the Russian Federation was trained here. But the mosque is a place where devout Muslims hold prayer (regular prayer). Both cultural heritage sites of the 15th and 16th centuries are active. Therefore, it is advisable to visit this complex twice. During the day, when the entrance is open to visitors and in the evening, when the whole ensemble is illuminated by light
I would even say Poi Kalyan is the only thing worth going to Uzbekistan for. It is comparable to the main building of Moscow State University. But the bazaar is almost 100% China
Bukhara is beautiful for its originality and unique architecture. The historical heritage of the country, which must be seen with your own eyes. To touch the eternal and unique.
Bukhara! One of the seven holy cities in Islam. The city through which the Silk Road passed. Stunning architecture, many centuries-old cultural monuments. Very beautiful.
Well, what can I say... a kind of Registan in miniature... It is necessary to see this place, of course, before visiting Samarkand. It definitely looks better at night than during the day: thanks to the competent illumination of buildings.

It's beautiful, but I would like more service and variety, after numerous minarets and mosques you get very tired. It is quite difficult to have fun in Khiva, because everything can get boring quickly
One of the main attractions of Bukhara, a must-visit, but you will not be able to miss it) The peculiarity of Bukhara is that most of the attractions are gathered in one area, within walking distance from each other. Don't forget to bring water, a hat and a purse) You will need money not only for souvenirs, but also to enter some complexes.
There is a small cafe opposite the ensemble, which offers a beautiful view. We took herbal tea and baklava, enjoyed the moments, rested before continuing the active evening.
And, of course, this is a great place for a photo shoot)
In two days in January 2024, we were able to get around this historic place. The place is a must-visit. As the center of an ancient civilization, with unique architecture, embodiments of Oriental traditions and customs.
Good day to all! Beautiful architecture, the historical heritage of the 1500s, high-quality renovation, as well as majestic buildings in their original form that have not yet been restored. It's breathtaking. I recommend that you definitely visit. The pricing policy is more than available to Russians.
It is very beautiful and very impressive in scale, history, majestic beauty. The scale of the mosque is also surprising. The fact that it can accommodate 12 thousand people is not even surprising, since it is really incredibly huge. According to the stories of the guides, it was built on the ruins of old mosques during the Timurids.
One of the main attractions of Bukhara. It's a wonderful place in its own way, and the people are friendly and welcoming. I am very pleased that I visited this city))))
Bukhara is rightfully considered one of the oldest cities in the world - it is already more than 2500 years old! Medieval Bukhara was not only a major political, cultural and commercial center, but also a significant religious center of the East. Therefore, in Bukhara, as in no other city in Central Asia, mosques and complexes are most fully, vividly and multifaceted. One of these is the Poi-Kalyan complex (XII-XVI centuries.) is very beautiful, both day and night, because it is beautifully illuminated. Be sure to visit this place!
Bukhara is the most beautiful city in Uzbekistan, the architecture is impressive. Especially at night! There are many places where you can eat delicious Uzbek cuisine! It's clean in the city!
The beauty is fabulous !!!You can walk there endlessly .Narrow streets , mosques , Miri Arab Madrasahs , domes are all nearby .I love my hometown and I am proud that I was born in such a fabulous city!!! Come dear guests!!!
Well, this is the main attraction of the city, impressive both day and evening! Nearby, I recommend going to a carpet store, there is a very hospitable host and you can admire outstanding carpets, some of them cost more than 500 thousand dollars!
A very beautiful complex, the largest mosque, minaret, library and madrasah. The mosque is being restored, the colonnade is being restored, you will not pass by - the main attraction, look at it in the afternoon and evening.
My opinion about Bukhara.
The "weekend" of several hours left a lot of emotions/impressions.
Bukhara is Beautiful and unique .
During the day, it has its own calm atmosphere, in tandem with interesting architecture..
Yes, it is very similar to Samarkand.
But still, it is very different.
You can feel it right away, and literally in everything..
Climate, people, food, souvenirs, history, etc
Bukhara is neat and clean.
There is an abundance of souvenir shops, you can find interesting handmade things and so on, for example: Folk musical instruments, carpets, panama hats, caps, pens, bracelets, dolls, handmade wooden products, silver jewelry, national costumes, and much more..
Sellers easily make concessions)
A storm of emotions, it's great to visit Bukhara, I definitely recommend that everyone do it at least once..
Unfortunately, we didn't have much time, we didn't see everything for a long time and barely managed to catch the train to Tashkent, but it was worth it, it was great, I hope I will return to fabulous Bukhara again)
Maybe I missed something, so if you have any questions about Bukhara, feel free to ask!)
A place from the fairy tales of Scheherazade, magical at any time of the day, but especially at sunset. A must-visit in Bukhara! This is something that you will remember for the rest of your life.
