We have been traveling to Abkhazia for more than 10 years.
Araucaria is always a favorite place to eat. We visited various establishments, and the Abbot's restaurant, the Tea House, the Gagripshe... but we returned here every time. This vacation was no exception and, as usual, we visited this place every day. A man has been working in this institution for many years who cooks delightfully on the grill, so we always take a dish on the grill. A year ago we were also in this institution, we usually order a rack of lamb, it was not available, we ordered lamb flesh, we were disappointed, the meat was stringy, it's good that there is always a big dog next to it, she had dinner. This year, without changing traditions, we ordered 10 pieces of lamb, the meat was fried well, but! Should I bring 6 pieces of a square and 4 pieces from a spatula?! We were celebrating a family date and we didn't want a showdown, but the sediment remained. In Araucaria, perhaps, the most delicious pie with tsarsky cheese, we came off to the fullest, took it a day later, ate "from the belly", also took two home, I definitely recommend trying it, the pie is big.
I don't want to write a bad review, because in general the institution is decent, there have never been stomach problems, live music with a good repertoire is not bad, there is a large gazebo covered, and tables in the air, near the fountain, closer, or away from the music, in general, wherever your heart desires. The locals also speak well of this place and often go there themselves. Pleasant, hospitable management. Always fast, attentive service, but not this year.
The waiters are not efficient, indifferent to the guests, as if they don't exist at all, you can't wait for the menu, and if you make an order, you can fall asleep. A plump, dark-haired woman with short hair, most likely a cook, constantly shouted how tired she was of everything, the waiters laughed at the top of their lungs, frolicked with themselves. This is despite the fact that many competitive cafes and restaurants have already been opened in staraya Gagra, and there are not so many people. We have known this institution for many years and trust it, but others will not return there anymore. I feel sorry for people who have earned a good name for themselves for many years, have been maintaining staff for many years, and paying salaries to those who cannot or do not want to work.
Dear management, drive them away with a filthy broom!

Just a delight. The cuisine is excellent, the kebab is the best in Gagra, khachapuri with a huge amount of fresh cheese, well, I really liked everything. Hominy exceeded all expectations. We were in Abkhazia for the first time and after a short sightseeing tour, our guide Ruben (by the way, an excellent connoisseur of Gagra) took us to this restaurant.
The food is delicious - at home. But the prices were very surprising - such low prices are not found in Russia.
By the way, a mosaic maze is very close by - one of the attractions 👍

The kitchen has deteriorated - either the chefs change there every season, or the owners. I was in Arakuria for the first time in 2014, then in 2022 - everything was always very tasty, the lamb rack was excellent. This year, the picture is different, even the recipe has changed: in the Staraya Gagra salad, eggplants are no longer the same as before, but just pieces of stewed vegetables with a tasteless dressing. And the cherry on the cake is unwashed tomatoes with traces of dirt in the salad. I made a remark to the waiter about this, which was followed by a vague excuse that they usually supposedly wash. Allegedly! The rest of the dishes are very mediocre: the meat seems to be yesterday's in all meat dishes, some kind of tasteless. In the photo: fried cheese with a taste of stale, as it has been stale for a long time, boiled, slightly warm meat with cheese on top, heated in a microwave - well, such a thing... Anyway, for some reason it was tasteless everywhere in Abkhazia this year, both in ordinary cafes and in restaurants, there was no really delicious barbecue and meat dishes anywhere, and I did not want to return to any cafe again.

We ordered a barbecue - according to Abkhazian - (there is no salt, the meat is old, everything is in the veins ), it is not possible to eat .
Fettuccine with seafood is inedible
Khinkali ( by the time they were ready , they were clearly molded from under the knife , it turned out very badly )
Waiters play phones at the common table , in the middle of the hall .
Service from the Soviet Union .
No coffee .
The sauce is red and it is impossible to take it in your mouth .

We spent the whole vacation here. This is the best cafe on the coast. The assortment of delicious dishes (inexpensive) will not leave you indifferent, live incendiary music, attentive and friendly staff. If it is frozen, they give out blankets for free. I recommend trout (600p-medium fish) and pork kebab (320p serving). The child was delighted with Caesar with shrimp (450p large plate)

I didn't like it. I don't know where such rave reviews come from. Manta rays- there is meat in quantity like in dumplings, but they are huge. The meat is so-so, everything is burnt. It is not clear how, on what and from what it is cooked, usually if a barbecue is fried on the grill, the smell is for a kilometer, then you pass by the grill and there is no smell of barbecue. At the same time, this masterpiece dish is worth 570 rubles.

We booked a table in advance by phone because of the large company, but it turned out to be in vain for two reasons: 1. Most tables are free during the day. 2. We discussed the menu ON the PHONE in advance, slightly adjusted it locally. The waiter was probably trying to cheat us, she miscalculated herself. The bill was brought to us, we paid it and left. AT NIGHT, the administrator calls us, gives the waiter the phone, she says that she incorrectly counted our order and that we still owe 900 rubles. First of all, the bill was brought to us, and we paid it!!! Secondly, why do the waiters call me from the cafe at night, ignoring decency and demanding an additional payment for an already paid bill? Why should I be responsible for the mistakes of the maintenance staff? Three stars just for that.

We ate in this cafe several times during the day, the service is terrible, all the waitresses can't get a word out, tired, dissatisfied. Instead of green tea, black tea was brought all the time, spaghetti with mussels is a separate story! Yesterday's spaghetti was brought, heated in the microwave and put 4 mussels and it's all 400 rubles, and spaghetti is not enough, apparently all that remains (sorry there are no photos). It's a disgusting place! We were served by a waitress (blonde, Olga) I have never met such a boorish attitude anywhere! At the stage of accepting the order, she expressed her dissatisfaction with being asked to split the bill, because there were two families, a sheet was torn out of a notebook and defiantly thrown on our table, then she forced everyone to repeat the order when writing a new one. We go further ... the order was brought, the dishes are simply inedible, the lamb kebab is the sole, the chicken tastes disgusting (the taste of spoiled meat), accordingly it was not eaten. Then the "cherry on the cake" is a slice of tomato in a ROTTEN salad!!! That's what finished me off, so to speak. When making a complaint, the waitress told me that this is not Russia and this is normal here! How is that?Is that okay? Feed rotten and rotten meat to the guests ?be rude and cheat? But more on that later… I demanded to remove the salad from the account, as a result of a dispute (I asked in case of refusal to give me a cash receipt so that in case of poisoning I would understand where to look for those responsible), to which I was told that they did not have a cash register, as well as the administrator and director on the spot. In general, the salad was removed, although they asked to pay for half, because part of it was eaten, it's generally a shame!I did not agree to this, they brought a new bill, I paid it, but the change was not given in full, I had to look for it, wait to pay in full. As a result, everything was written off as an accident, there was no apology.
I ask the management to take action, because the employees "make" the institution, and here there are only disappointments …

This is the most disgusting cafe in relation to visitors!
