Old, tired and so dear)) very simple and clear, requires renovation for a very long time. It is very crowded with passengers during the summer season. A small but pleasant business room. No frills. The choice of food and drinks is modest, there is no shower room. If possible, I always choose to fly through Istanbul's new airport (IST). We lost our luggage a couple of times, but we found it both times.

The airport consists of two terminals. I know very little about terminal 1, as I used it only when transferring to terminal 2.
Terminal 2 is small, and therefore not very convenient. The number of flights is large, there are many passengers, and there are few amenities. In the hot season, the room is stuffy. You can sit at the gates mostly.
The food is expensive, which is probably due to inflation in Turkey, but in the short time interval between flights, prices are noticeably rising, and the quality of food is the same. (so-so, to be honest)
On the positive side: I don't know, maybe I'm so lucky, but I have to admit that I haven't encountered flight delays. The gate number is announced exactly one hour before departure, boarding the plane is fast.
