When you arrive at 3AM, you'll have to wait until 5AM in the transfer zone! Before you can reach the departure lobby. In the zone with no seats and no personnel. They will just tell you, that the transit zone will open at 5!!!
I visited Shanghai Pudong International Airport and I want to share my impressions - maybe my review will be useful to other travelers.
The airport is really huge, modern and technologically advanced. There is a lot of space, light, clean and quite convenient to navigate if you understand in advance where you need to go. The staff is polite, but you should be prepared for the language barrier — not everyone knows English.
🛜 Wi-Fi:
Free Wi-Fi works fine, but to connect, you either need to enter a Chinese phone number or use special vending machines (look between exits 75 and 77). If you are passing through China and you do not have a local SIM card, this is a salvation.
Important: many familiar websites (Google, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) are blocked in China, so I recommend installing a VPN in advance.
, Life Hacks:
Take an adapter to Chinese outlets with you — not all charging stations are suitable for European plugs.
Maglev is just space! It will take you to the center of Shanghai in 7 minutes. Be sure to take a ride if you want to experience
If you have a long transfer, you can find special recreation areas and even showers. Everything is very decent in terms of service.
There are cafes and shops, but the prices are slightly higher than in the city — it's better to take something with you in advance if you don't want to overpay.
Overall, the airport left a pleasant impression — large, modern, with thoughtful logistics. The main thing is to be prepared for Chinese specifics: to study the nuances in advance, and then everything will go smoothly. I was satisfied 🌟
