A quiet, peaceful hotel, perfect for newlyweds and people who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle. Very high quality food, free WiFi. A beautiful ocean that can be seen from every room, except for two rooms on the first floor of the right building, closest to the bar. There are tides, decent, but not critical! There is a swimming pool where you can cool off. All inclusive is different from the usual (order a la carte, in advance and to choose from, portions are large, several dishes are included in lunch and dinner, buffet breakfast, beer and bottled drinks, cocktails are delicious, wine has not been tasted.) you will definitely not stay hungry. You can pay for your stay on the spot, by agreement with Samson, the general manager of the hotel. Transfer without question, from the hotel. I repeat, it is a very beautiful and peaceful place, so that there is no negativity, you need to understand what you want to get from any vacation! The hotel staff resembles a family that tries to do everything for a great vacation for their relative.I would advise newlyweds, families with children, elderly people.
They were in March 2021. I really liked it!
We got into the Albatross by accident. Initially, we planned to relax in Padja, but all the hotels we chose were on a stop sale, and we were offered to go to Albatross, in Dongwe. And we didn't regret it at all afterwards. Unlike Paje, Nungwi and Kendwa, where we took a ride for the sake of interest, in Dongwe nature is more felt, there is no fuss, crowds of vacationers and pesky Maasai traders. We were afraid of long tides, but in the end we always swam from the pier of the Dongwe Club hotel. And it turned out to be a pleasure to look at starfish, hedgehogs, crabs and other animals at low tide)) A magnificent Ocean with blue, clear and warm water. We haven't been out of the water for hours! I've never swum anywhere so much! A beach with a white sand. Palm trees along the shore. It's picturesque. A great place for long walks.
The Albatross Hotel is located right on the shore, small: only 18 rooms. The atmosphere is family-friendly. The territory is compact, green and cozy. The buildings are located in such a way that all rooms have a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean from the balconies. The rooms are large. There is no kettle, TV and refrigerator, but we could easily do without it.
The staff is friendly and smiling. Cleaning and change of towels daily. Every evening, caring staff treated the room with mosquito repellents and covered the beds with a canopy.
The food is good. Breakfast is a buffet. Delicious. Dinners- on the menu: main.dish, salad and dessert ($15). Once there was a dinner at the hotel with a Fire Show. For a change, you can go to the local restaurant Fischer, but at the end of our stay we preferred the hotel restaurant, because Fischer began to serve small portions, and the quality of the food became worse. There are no shops around. Drinking water was bought at a shop near the hotel gate, fruits were on excursions, or ordered from local beach vendors, or went to the Padge.
Excursions can be taken from local guides, which is cheaper, and at the hotel.
The Russian manager Jan works at Albatross. She is always in touch with tourists, will help solve any problems. Yana's presence makes life much easier for our tourists on a Zanzibar vacation. We are very satisfied with the hotel. We had a wonderful and unforgettable rest. Hakuna Matata! If you need relaxation and rest from the hustle and bustle, then you are here. We recommend it!
It was a wonderful vacation! We liked the service, the food, the rooms are clean and cozy, everything is in the African style. Cleaning and mosquito repellent treatment every day. Clean pool, cleaned every day. Very friendly staff! The owner of the hotel organized various shows, cooking and dancing. And of course, the Indian Ocean and the purest white sand are three steps away. We really want to repeat our trip to this wonderful place!
