The castle is listed in maps and guidebooks as a historical landmark, a kind of museum complex. In fact, it is nothing more than a complex of photo zones, seasoned with souvenir shops, mini-cafes, ice cream stalls. You can take a lot of good photos with views of the sea, the port, the city from a height; but we did not find any museum and sightseeing events there. The fortress walls have been preserved in fragments, as well as some infrastructure facilities.
Try not to arrive there at noon - you can not escape from the heat anywhere in the castle.
There are bus stops on the territory; perhaps there is even some kind of regular route :)
A very beautiful fortress, the views of the surrounding area are excellent. But it is better to go to the top by car / taxi, since it is difficult to climb on your own, to put it mildly. And the funicular does not save you completely, since you still have to walk from it to the highest point.
It was very interesting, we went up by funicular, then on foot. The territory is quite large, with a very good view of the sea and the city. I was very impressed by the hall underground. The highlight of this place
An interesting historical place! Colorful and poetic at the same time... in the same space, both the distant past and the present are among families living in houses and sharing everyday life with us- idle tourists: they invite you to tea or offer you a souvenir tied up with you. And in the hands of an elderly Turkish woman is the quiet story of her life and the life of her country. Take a look …
It takes only a few minutes to climb the funicular. On the territory of the ancient fortress there are cafes where you can relax and have a snack, souvenir shops and shops. A special attraction is the Sulaymaniyah Mosque, which can be visited. The cabin of the funicular offers a magnificent view of the city and Cleopatra Beach.
It is not interesting exactly where to climb the funicular. For three people, I gave $ 46 and went up to see the fortress, they asked for another $ 46. There were a lot of people , but someone didn 't go there . All other places are the Lighthouse , the Fortress are steep . It 's really worth going there. I found everything without the Internet via Yandex Map.
The last time I arrived was in March 22, before that at different times of the year, November, summer. We have flown to Turkey 20 times. You can't describe all the places. But the Red Tower holds a special place in my memories.
Kyzyl Kule~ The Red Tower is one of the main tourist attractions of Alanya. . This building of the XIII century is considered a symbol of Alanya and is even depicted on the flag of the city. It is part of the Alanya Fortress complex.
If you come to Alanya on vacation, then you should definitely visit the Red Tower. The Red Tower was built to defend the city from the sea. It has 5 floors. The ethnographic museum is located on the ground floor. All the beauty is on the 5th floor.
We usually get up by cable car, go back down on foot, slowly, looking at cacti that reach the size of a man, go down, stopping at a cafe to sit, admire the port below, Cleopatra beach. Somewhere in the middle of the descent there is a cafe where exceptional salmon is cooked.
Going down to the ships, you can order shrimp and oysters.
There is an observation deck at the top of the fortress, from there an incredible view, it takes your breath away, you stand and feel a sense of freedom, taking in the beauty from a bird's-eye view.
A very interesting historical place. Definitely worth a visit. Take the cable car up. There's a cafe there. The views are beautiful. An ancient cemetery. A very atmospheric place. Fortress. Cactus fruits. You won't regret it. Photos and emotions will be cool
Be sure to go. Climb on the cable car. The air is cool pine, I didn't even think that there are so good Comfortable paths, beautiful views of the city, especially at sunset. You can walk for three quiet hours. There is a cafe and souvenirs. You can return on foot or by cable car (tickets are immediately there back)
They were in May 2024. Very interesting. We went up by funicular, walked a little and entered the fortress. We walked around the old fortress for half a day. People currently live on its territory. A functioning mosque, souvenir market, cafe. And to be honest, we didn't get around everything, we were tired. But the experience was worth it. The funicular offers a beautiful view of Cleopatra Beach and Alanya.
An exciting walk to the fortress with gorgeous views, we recommend it to everyone from the heart 😸
Children in the mountains met a turtle, took pictures with her))
Cyclomena bloom in the mountains - the gentle beauty of nature 💕
From above, the sea is even more cosmic turquoise color 😍
Very beautiful. Great views. We went up by taxi for $ 10, back by bus for $ 1. Who writes about walking, probably marathon runners😁 the entrance to the castle is $ 12, we looked at everything in half an hour
It is a very beautiful picturesque place. You can get there by funicular or by bus. (You can also walk, but in the heat it will be very exhausting) magnificent views open from the fortress. In addition to the main route, there are additional small trails that are deserted, which is great for photos or if you quickly get tired of the crowd. The only drawback is perhaps the toilets. They are either paid and can be closed because the caretaker left for 5 minutes (Turkish 5 minutes = 30 is generally accepted if anything), or they are free, but in such a state that it is even life-threatening.
A very beautiful place: gorgeous views open from a height during the day, and a magical fairy tale at night. The ascent takes 30/40 minutes, by taxi or car — 15, by bus number 24 — 20/25 minutes. But I advise you to walk up to the top to admire the views and houses.
A historical place. We visited the fortress for the first time 10 years ago - the entrance was free, but the territory is not very well maintained. The last time was in the summer of 2023 - super! There are even audio guides in Russian 🙂
Stunning views of the city of Alanya, the Mediterranean Sea, Cleopatra beach.
We really love to be here! ❤️
A gorgeous place! It's just incredible, I love it. The view from the tower is breathtaking, there are places like it in the fortress and in the surrounding area.
We were in November. There are few tourists, you can freely enjoy the views. Entrance to the upper fortress is paid - 210 liras. A beautiful historical place, narrow streets, restaurants, mosques. For a walk - what you need)
Great view from the cable car👍👍It's very beautiful, a difficult climb. It's bad that there's nowhere to drink just water and the toilet is the only one I've met.
And one more minus, the territory is huge, you go and you don't know where you are at the moment. A couple of times we just met cards without the designation "you are here"🤷🏻♀️
There are some signs , but if you don't know Turkish. Still, it is necessary to put up signs with translations in 2-3 publicly available, popular languages…
A stunningly beautiful place. It is better to get to the observation deck by car, then only on foot. The views of indescribable beauty, the locals will invite you to visit them, treat you to tea and coffee, tell a story. Don't forget to thank them financially))
We went without a tour, walked around the fortress ourselves, we really liked everything. I advise you to come there in the evening when the lights come on
It's a great place.
We went up on the cable car, looked at everything, and returned the same way.
The place smells of history, but there are no descriptions of the sights in Russian, an interpreter will help.
I recommend a visit.
Stunning views of Alanya and Cleopatra beach.it is worth visiting when exploring the city, and a romantic date in the cafe of the fortress will not leave you indifferent. Wonderful locations for photos in memory of the beautiful Turkey.
The place is very interesting, especially if you get to the museum. There is the highest point and an observation deck, which offers views of the whole of Alanya from both sides.
We went up and down from the fortress on foot. There is still a passable road up, lined with stone. There is practically no road down. The descent from the mountain is just along the path. Physical training is needed, it is difficult, especially in the heat. The cable car in July is 170 liras per person, if there is a round-trip ticket. One way is 220 lire. Entrance to the fortress is paid 280 or 290 liras (I don't remember exactly). Nothing much special, but you can go for fun! The views from above are breathtaking!

The fortress is in the center of Alanya, you can climb by cable car, there is a place to walk, beautiful views. We found a couple of cafes in the free part. You can walk down from the marina. Definitely worth a visit.
Incredible beauty. The fortress itself, nature and views. Be sure to visit. It is sad that the price of a lift ticket has increased 2.5 times in a year
A medieval fortress built on an older foundation, two ancient Greek churches, a 12th-century mosque, a medieval mazolei, and the ruins of a Greek monastery can be seen on the cape. At the foot there is a medieval shipyard and the symbol of Alanya - the Red Tower.
The fortress is cool. A large area, you can walk all day. Interestingly, there are private houses on the territory in which dealers in souvenir junk have settled
It's huge... It stretches its walls all over the mountain and majestically recalls the great eras of the past... A must-visit...!!! Just one thing- get ready for the ascent, or take a taxi to the very top and further down!! Still, you will save your strength and the mood will remain... Good luck...
We went up by funicular , then on foot . There are many beautiful places to take photos, but you have to go uphill all the time. There are benches to sit on, there is a cafe. The cost of the fanicooler is 80 lire per person. The views are beautiful.
The place is wonderful. It won't take a day to get around the whole thing. You can climb by funicular, which is also interesting. On the territory of the fortress you can buy juice, ice cream, fruits
The most beautiful place! It is necessary to get to the very top and be sure to go to the paid observation deck! It's so beautiful there that you want to scream with pleasure))
An amazing place. Absolutely free around the clock, you can walk there for several hours. So many paths, such views.! It is necessary to go there at least twice - day and night
We went up to the fortress ourselves, without the services of a guide on a fanicular. The price for one one-way trip is 175 liras, round trip is 195 liras. But we decided to go around the entire fortress and go down on foot. There are many viewing platforms and magnificent views of Alanya open up
The most beautiful views open from the tower. Ascent by funicular, and then up a fairly steep staircase. It's not very comfortable in the heat. But what you see around it is worth it.
It is very beautiful, a large territory, but be careful if you suddenly want to leave the complex (you will see picket fences) then you will not be allowed back)) because different tickets are sold at two entrances, and the ticket will no longer be valid from 1 entrance to 2))
It must be hard for locals to live there, so many people walk past your house. But the place is exciting. The air is clean, how many of these ruins have seen over the centuries. And you get into the past yourself.
A beautiful old Fortress, although the entrance to part of it will be paid, we did not go, it was sooo hot. It's good to go down on foot - interesting views open up.
the place is mandatory to visit, if you are resting here, pay attention to the opening hours, different sites indicate differently, so I was able to get here only the second time, it works until 19:30. I highly recommend it at sunset-there will be incredibly beautiful photos and videos, but also put in at least a few hours for inspection
