A small airport and very compact. The rail to the city is in walking distance. Waiting hours are not as much as Frankfurt but the border police is checking every detail in your passport.
The airport in Stuttgart suits me very well - compact, several terminals at the entrance with the organization of baggage control, you do not have to stand for a long time even with a large flow of passengers. Informative scoreboards are quite common along the way in German and English, there are a lot of seats for waiting near the gates. Duty free is small, but there is a lot of everything. There are also enough snack areas, and all this is within walking distance. The only drawback is the queues at Passkontrol upon arrival, only two or three windows are open for non-residents, sometimes you stand for 40-50 minutes waiting. at the exit there is a Hotel, Parking, taxi within walking distance. From public transport - S-bahn, with a frequency of movement every half hour, ticket vending machines are available.
