Not really bad place. But lots of stuff could be better there like more cafes with different options. The airport for İzmir as a big city is so so.

Good day, nice airport, you can always take a taxi.Good shops in the departure area.Large queues for check-in are quickly unloaded by airport staff.There aren't many flights, I didn't notice any delays.Plenty of places to rest before departure.Izmir is 10-20 minutes away by taxi.You can get to the Mall if you delayed your flight or arrived at the airport early.

I really liked Izmir airport, it is big enough, there is a lot of space to relax, good cafes to have a snack, there is a pharmacy. The atmosphere is calm, but the queue at the gate is always long, as there are many flights.

I liked the airport very much, the staff is attentive, everyone is friendly. There is an office on the 2nd floor, which accepts rubles for exchange. There is a metro near the airport, you can drive to the historical part of the city or to the beach, if you have time.
I liked the city of Izmir and its airport, I think I will fly here again!

It is very good and large for a regional airport. There is free Wi-Fi, rooms for changing kids, automatic luggage storage (330 lira for two suitcases per day), there are smoking rooms both before registration and after special control. That's just that duty free seemed quite expensive and very limited in assortment. Well, water for 3 euros for 0.33 after all was taken away at the special control - this is piggishness.

The airport is quite spacious. You pass the checks quickly. All navigation is present. One of the disadvantages is that the air conditioners do not work well. It's very hot at the airport.
I would also like to mention the Primeclass Lounge business hall. Not bad, but only in terms of the choice of food and drinks. In this regard, it is significantly ahead of Sheremetyevo (Chagall Hall). The hall itself is small. A lot of people won't fit in there. There is no toilet, it is separate on the territory of the airport.

The airport is divided into 2 zones: internal, in Turkey, and external, communication with the world. The country section is more than modest. A couple of rows of chairs, a couple of shops. But the international part is quite decent. There are good shops, cafes, lots of smoking rooms, travelators, massage chairs. There are a lot of employees who sort and help tourists: check in electronically, check in their luggage, get a boarding pass. I liked.

An excellent small airport (although there is something to compare it with). There is an electric train from the airport to the center of Izmir, the prices are humane, it won't take long to go.
There are shops and cafes at the airport. A separate respect is for the airport's business lounge, even some Moscow airports with their own business halls, rather resembling cheap canteens, were not nearby.
The business hall in Izmir has a fairly good assortment of food and drinks, including alcoholic ones.

But after landing, wait for the bus at the opened door of the plane for half an hour, get on the incoming bus while the nerves are on the line and wait for the suitcase inside for 1 hour. What kind of system do you have, they answer that there are no personnel, there is no equipment, of course, if you can find a solution. If we went by bus, we would probably be less tired. 👏👏👏👏

I was very pleased that there were not so many people (and it is important that there is a place to wait for your flight - free seats in cafes and public areas) - I was here in May, June and early July.
Navigation is simple and intuitive, without unnecessary problems. I liked the availability of restaurants and cafes like Starbucks - a great option to have a snack before the flight or drink coffee.
By the way, there is a large multi-level parking lot in the vicinity of the terminals.
The only thing that always remains the same is the prices... at the exit / entrance, a Snickers chocolate bar is 100 lira... (June 2023). But this is the standard for most airports.
In general, it is a completely normal airport, which differs for the better from Antalya…

A modern airport. It is clean, spacious, large waiting areas, there are even places with tables with sockets. I really liked the smoking areas, the so-called terraces - every 150-200 meters, being as if in the center of the hall, but they do not have a roof and it turns out like you go outside. We flew on the Izmir-Istanbul flight in February, probably out of season - so it seemed that everything was very fast and efficient.

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport is beautiful, but we couldn't find a place to park our car on January 25, 2025 because both international and domestic parking is insufficient. A lot of people like me had to park their car on the side of the road. And then they took these vehicles away. I tore it at the last moment from the withdrawal of my vehicle. I didn't like the fact that the luggage storage is only in one place and there are few cameras themselves, especially small ones. The camera is located in the area of local airlines, there is support in English by phone (I had to use it because my camera did not open when I opened it).
The airport is located in the suburbs, and you can get to Izmir by the local Izban train.
