It's just an amazing place, every time you cross the border on different days of the week and hours, you don't know how the card will fall out, and how quickly you will pass the border. On busy days, there are 2 open windows, and sometimes you go without a queue, but at the same time 4-5 windows are open. 🤷🏼♀️
And so on the street near the border, there is a decent toilet and a good store.
Inside the checkpoint itself, the toilet most often does not work, there is no mother and child room.
But what pleases, the border guards, if they see that there are families with kids, can open another window, or skip the queue, thank them very much for that
I drove my car from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan on August 22, 2022. I note the following:
1) the Kyrgyz side is a complete mess: in a car with Kyrgyz license plates, all those who apparently paid and wedged in front of the queue are driving in the oncoming lane in front of traffic cops and border guards. When I drove up from Issyk Kul 700-800 meters to the border, a queue formed. I covered this distance in 2.5 hours!!!
2) on the Kazakh side, it is not much better: they work very slowly, I was looking for a border guard myself to inspect the car. Then they were forced to go to the scanner, unload a full trunk of things, although it is clear that he was traveling from vacation with a family with young children to his home. I unloaded all my things, some of their boss was passing by, apparently, and asked why you unloaded things? I answered, and he tells me not to, load it back, looked at the car number and says it's obvious that it's home, unloading only concerns transit workers. That's the competence of border guards, young border guards are incompetent, but the fee is through the roof...
It took almost 4 hours (3 hours and 50 minutes) to do everything about everything.
In short, as the youth says, tin and sucks ... (((
Great. Everything is done for the convenience of people, but there is one THING! Be prepared for the fact that as soon as you have crossed the border from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan, the traffic police will definitely stop you if you are driving a car with Kazakh license plates, for no reason, and there it is no longer known what awaits you in the future, who will be lucky. Therefore, it is better to cross the border through another checkpoint if you are driving.
Crossed the border on 21.01 2023.
23.01 2023.-there is no data on crossing the border.
The passport was Russian, internal.
There is no stamp. Why is it still not in the database and what should I do????????
Despite the large number of vehicles, the border guards of the two countries are working quickly. I think two hours of border crossing is acceptable. No swearing, no shouting, quiet, calm.
It is normal from the Kazakh side, but for a long time.
On the Kyrgyz side, if you are from Russia, then wait for a special inspection and consider public, brazen extortion!!! 🤦♂️
I'm not going to Kyrgyzstan anymore.
Either I was lucky, or something got better: I drove in both directions by car faster than my companions walked. The scanner of the Kazakh side delays the return a little, but not everyone is sent there. With an empty trunk, they were released without scanning.
We were by car, we were traveling from Kazakhstan to Issyk Kul, we crossed the border quickly enough, it took 10 minutes, unlike Kordai, it took us about two hours there.
For residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz border guards are more loyal than our border guards. A terrible border crossing point. Think about it, representatives of states, this is the face of the country, not ..
It's called how lucky! It all depends on the shift, if you go fast, if you're unlucky, you'll be stuck for an hour or more..... This applies only to Kazakhstan, everything is OK with the Kyrgyz, the staff is very friendly.
On the Kyrgyz side, everything is simple.
Kazakhstan does not allow Russian citizens to pass!!!
Business trip documents are not accepted. Only on a note from the organization to the border guard service.
There are very few people at the crossing.
Kyrgyz 👍 only there are no signs. The driver dropped us off at the forbidding stop sign and they started saying that it was forbidden there (although there were no signs) and directly asked for 1000 som per paw
There were no problems coming to Kyrgyzstan. I drove for 15 minutes. I traveled by car. But I spent more than half an hour back to Kazakhstan. I had to drive through the scanner. It looks kind of creepy.
No matter how sad it is, they make money, like a customs union, no matter what they inspect the car, things ask for money, if they don't, then they waste three chis.It is the same in Kazakstan, and in Kazakstan, the border checkpoint staff is even more greedy.
It's a creepy place.crossing the border for at least 1.5 hours. They hold it on purpose, create a traffic jam. Bullying people. It is better to drive an extra 50 km and walk on the black river.
