Absolutely generic airport. Nothing special. Domestic and international terminals are pretty far from each other. The international terminal isn’t convenient. Most of the time you have to take part in a huge queue when passing a passport control arriving VN. There is almost no place to sit when you’re waiting for someone arriving and the space for waiting is empty and inconvenient, because you need to go out from it and only then you can go to meet your friends/family. The domestic terminal is even worse (as you would expect). If you came to meet someone by bike, you will not be able to enter the international terminal, because it’s not allowed to enter by bike… this is surprisingly awful because if I have no huge luggage, I expect to be able to come by grab bike, not a car, but I can’t, or I need to come to domestic terminal and then go to international one by feet… also (its not an airport issue I hope, but…) there is about 90% chance that your flight will be delayed. I had cases when they allowed us to come in the plane and then we were waiting for an hour inside…

So cool place. I recommend everybody be inside this airport. Includes: McDonald's,.Starbucks, Burger King,... Not to mention, even it has a lounge: Lotus Lounge.

while other countries work hard to upgrade their airports, Tan Son Nhat is a shame; there can be no more flights than the airport can handle, but not in Saigon. And this happens year after year, and it only gets worse. It scares off tourists and undermines Vietnamese statehood.
